It is 110% safe to run the tstat all year. The car will have no issues reaching operating temps, because ambient air temp have very little bearing on the temps inside of a closed loop like a cooling system.

just physics, if your in a climate that is substantially hotter, car is going to be hotter at a certain point

same thing when your at the dragstrip and its 90 and humid and your trying to cool down between rounds

takes forever

hit a fall track when it's 40 out, and you can round robin that thing

No official instructions just posts by ppl on here giving tips on the install. Basically you need to remove the throttle body which is actually pretty simple and then you can get to it pretty easy. You'll need a gallon of OEM coolant for the fluid u lose when u take the hoses off.

I didn't do it myself. Took it to evolution performance, when I told them what I wanted installed they said they had already done several of these so it was easy for them

Take the intake tube off, remove the hose to the thermostat housing outlet. You will lose about a quart of antifreeze from that. Then remove the two 8mm bolts holding the housing outlet on. Once you pop out the stock thermostat you will lose another quart to half gallon of antifreeze. Put it back together in the reverse order. Let the engine run with the cap to the overflow tank off after I topped it off for about 15 minutes to get the air out. Just keep an eye on it and the temp gauge. After that take it for a quick drive then shut it down and let it cool completely. At that point you will see if you need to top it off.

It is! Heatsoak is a serious issue with the EB cars and trucks in general. Living in a more hot climate than "average" will aid in you reaching the heatsoak faster. So the more quickly and efficiently you can cool off the turbo system (intercooler) and engine (tstat) you will be able to have more fun more frequently. Even in cooler climates like here in Michigan there are distinct advantages to the same mods, and no negative effects in winter months either. Tune, CAI, tstat and FMIC are the perfect mods for a turbo car in any situation!
