HPDE does not qualify as racing according to ford. Open track days do not qualify either.

Now if you are racing nasa and/or even competitively racing for time, then no, Ford is not going to warranty any breakage ( officially. but this is also subject to how friendly your dealer is ) . This technically does include SCCA cone-killing.

I agree completely. However, fortunately, as I am sure you well know, HPDE is not considered racing, and is therefore covered by warranty.

And again it begs the question that if one is participating in HPDE why one did not get the track package to begin with; you know, it being a TRACK event and all. Why would Ford offer a track package if all were fully track capable? That logic just doesn't register.

It seems like a very basic concept and the order guide is/was very clear what each package did or did not have. It is more than clear the track package ADDED the coolers necessary for true track use; hence being called a track package.

Why would Ford make a car that can't lap 20 minutes in 60F? I can't think of a time this has happened, even the Z06 typically isn't that bad. It's inexcusable. The track pack should add on and enhance the track performance. Not be the only way to track the car.

Because it's not a track-only/first car; it is built to drive on the street first. And not all, or any majority, of GT350s will ever see a track. But to keep cost of the car down the stripped some of the track-only needed stuff out- coolers and base and tech and mag ride from the base.

It did not only come 1 way where there was no choice; then maybe there is an argument Ford should own up. Last I checked there were 3 trims and then the R; and only 1 of the 3 trims had the word track in it.

Many cars that participate in HPDE do not have coolers, to include the one you are currently driving. The order guide made clear what was in each model, but did not note that only the models with coolers could handle a very basic HPDE session. Nor did the order guide recommend coolers for track sessions.

There is a baseline expectation of performance with a Shelby, just as there is with a GT or a Prius. So, the question begged is why a Shelby GT350 would be advertised as it was and then be able to handle, at a minimum, a 20 minute novice track session? Again, please find something in the advertising that even insinuated that the base/tech could not perform to that minimal standard.

I've provided plenty where Ford said the GT350 could do X and Y and never separated the TP or R. Plenty. The opposite is no where.

There is only 1 trim, with the choice of different options.

Fact is not having a track package fm shouldn't exclude a car from participating on a track.

Is ford using a base/tech Shelby to advertise their own track event? But those aren't track cars.
