I'm upgrading my studs to the ARP extended studs, so I'll need open lugs. Wondering what to buy since I swap wheels out often.
For frequent swaps, I'd stick with a high-quality steel lug. Titanium is lighter and it's sexy, but it's a more brittle metal. I'm not enough of a metallurgist to know if the threads weaken with loading cycles any faster than steel, but I'm sure someone in here can school me.

I need deeper or open lug nuts for the new wheels, apparently, so this is something I need to figure out as well.

Makes sense. I’m hoping the professor (@Epiphany) can provide some guidance. I know he knows a thing or two about this stuff. Regarding steel lugs, I’ve seen these associated with the ARP studs often as well.

FWIW I went with ARP hardened steel studs and steel nuts for my race car. Got 5 years out of the last set with no issues (and the car was stored outside a lot); I replaced them this year preemptively.

What I’m using with my ARP lugs. Work great! They have a great seat but still work with the narrow lug holes of many aftermarket wheels.
