It's really tempting to order a set of those in black instead of getting mine powder coated when tire time comes around. They just look so nice, but I kinda wish AM had a more middle ground for a square setup so I could have something like 19x9.5 instead of 19x8.5/10. Not sure the bigger wheel is really worth it for me with the V6.
5.0_SD out of the ones they have, I kinda like the S350 wheels, but not much of a fan for the rest and I can't pretend to be a CS AND a GT350 at the same time (jk I couldn't care less, throwing my 50 years grille on next weekend hopefully). American Racing Apex are okayish, but if I were doing that I'd rather get the proper RTR Tech 5 wheel. Velgen Split5s are also nice, but not interested in that price.
I remember em and they look good. Do you have to use a spacer on the front to make sure there are no clearance issues or is the offset just right? With AM it doesn't list the offset spec in listing, but some posts I've found said I could do 19x10 if I put a 8mm spacer up front. Might just skip that and do the staggered set up to avoid spacers at that point.
The design on these is a bit nicer to me than the S350 style. Another part of considering these wheels is that powder coating is $100-$140 per wheel based on some quotes I got. These are $165-195 (19x8.5 to 20x10) so it's just $65 (at most) more per wheel to upgrade to a new style.
But looking at your pic reminds me....what ever happened with painting your calipers?!
No spacers on mine at all...lmr hit the backspacing perfect on these imho. The calipers will get done whenever I get the paint lol. I still have to install the CS splitter, Cervini's grills, and Opt7 turn signals...and the calipers, and the....it never ends and no time. Won't happen this weekend either. I've decide on mustang torch red G2 caliper paint, on ebay for $60. I've had to wait on the front bumper removal because I want my ceramic coat to fully cure before I touch it (takes 30 days to cure and today is the 30 day mark as a matter of fact). I would imagine someday I will have to get my sS350 wheels powder coated but so far they are holding up quite well.
Can't wait to see the CS splitter on there, I think that's really the only other cosmetic piece I'd do, depending on how these little splitters I ordered from a guy on Instagram come out. Debating between matte black, gloss black, or getting it color matched, but will try to test fit them when I do the grille swap.
I'd assume 19x10 is the same offset and backspacing numbers? Ideally I'd like to get it perfectly setup with the fenders, but I don't really understand how the offset and backspacing works with that and haven't looked much into it.
Thankfully I probably have over a year before I'm really going to pull the trigger on that.
100% happy with the 50 year grille installed. Was waffling back and forth on if I wanted to deal with taking off the bumper cover and put it on or sell it and make a little profit, happy I at least gave it a shot and love the result.
