Hey guys,
Sorry for the long post just a bit worried about my car.
I Recently got a 2018 mustang gt 10R80 from the dealership with about 45k miles on it.
I've put about 1,000 miles on it since I purchased it in February.
The car had rpm fluctuation/ surging at red lights and seemed like it wanted to die.
The dealership said that the car recently had a trans relearn performed due to a " harsh rattle that could be heard in the
engine bay" and that after a 500 mile period it should be fine.
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to drive the car much but I did pass the 500 mile mark since they did the relearn and the car stalled on me at a light afterwards. I also had the transmission hang up on first gear under normal acceleration in drive and not shift into 2nd until high 3k- low 4k rpm.
Additionally, the engine was making some weird noises and I decided to add liqui moly friction modifier, which did reduce the noises. Problem is I later found some scoring in the cylinder walls and some spark plugs with a good amount of oil on the threads.
I found about 3 sparkplugs with oil up to the base of the threads and the rest had oil on about 4-5 threads. I also found 3 cylinders with what looks to be about one or two drops of fresh oil. Does this seem excessive or is it normal for gen 3 coyotes?
The pictures of the scoring is just from the drivers side bank, the passenger side bank cylinder walls look to be in about the same condition. Is this level of scoring considered acceptable for 46k miles? I don't have the full service records, but I believe it is the original short block from November 2017. It doesn't seem too bad compared to other gen 3 coyote cylinder walls that I've seen.
I attached some pictures and videos, if you could please give me your opinion on them I'd really appreciate it. I don't know what's normal for coyotes and just want to make sure I'm informed before I take it to the dealership. Luckily the car is certified pre-owned so it is still under warrranty and I haven't installed my nGauge yet.
