Life with FFE in Phoenix

Could someone give me a sense of what life is like in the Phoenix area without cats? What are emissions requirements? How do people/cops treat louder cars? (I'm not asking about FFE generally speaking but about local laws.)

As far as daily stuff goes, you’ll be fine with a loud car and everyone drives a minimum of 80.

We get emissions tested here and I had the sniff test on an older explorer I had.

Obd2 test only on newer cars. If your sensors are all on and no check engine light your good to go. Never been pulled over in my mustang and I do triple digits every day but I did add some extra mufflers because my setup was louder than I like. It's still loud though. If you drive a loud honda you'll get harassed a lot lol. And if you only drive 80mph you better not be in the left lane or you'll get run over.
