I am going to be heading to the dealer next week to take a look at them as I’m having my H pipe put on at the same time. I’m wondering if the two door has enough room in the backseat to fit for or five comfortably.

I daily a Tacoma and would drive a Bronco or a 4Runner if the cookie crumbled that way. I looked at Broncos before buying the Taco but it was peak Covid drought and there was no inventory. My friend got the Bronco and its nice. The electronics and gauges are much better than the Toyotas get.

Its nice to have a vehicle which you can pack full of stuff at the hardware store, take on the beach or down some unpaved road. I don't have to worry about much when driving the taco around. hop a curb, whatever.

She's not crazy for wanting one, even if its just going to go from the suburbs to the mall. You might find its a practical thing to have a vehicle like that in the stable.

Just figure out if you want a manual or an automatic.

No, get the 4 door. The 2 doors are kinda tight.

I'd go 4 door too. Is it 4wd?, 'cause that would be a waste here in Florida, you don't need it, like ever, unless you are pulling a big boat up a boat ramp.
Oh, and welcome to Florida, enjoy the summer warmth!

As said above, you'll need a 4-door.

If you do look at hardtops, the MIC (molded in color) units are somewhat notorious for cracking, so beware. A friend with a 2-door is on his second top....

Good to know. What is the alternative? Soft top or other?

You will struggle getting two adults in the back of a 2 door. It's a dance at best. 3 adults in the back of a 4 door is tight.

Thinking you want something and getting it often changes how you feel when you have to live with it. I suggest you have her work the manual retractable top and see if she still wants it.

Exactly. I’m gonna have her come with me since she needs to pick me up when I drop off the car for the pipe. They have dozens on the lot so we can take a look at what they got and see how they work.

All of the manuals make a rock crushing noise in 1st gear (some very noticeable, and others less so) and Ford has put out multiple TSBs trying to fix it with little to no success. I loved my bronco but the dealer basically told me it shouldnt make that noise but we dont have a tech that can do a transmission change so “get lost”. I spent $55k on a 7000 mile certified pre owned Eruption Green badlands and the noise was barely noticeable and got worse and worse until I just decided to sell it rather than keep fighting the dealer near me. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2023/MC-10237783-0001.pdf

I’ll throw this in here since it is a shocker for me. Now that we are here in Florida she wants to get rid of the BMW convertible and she wants a manual retractable roof Bronco. She has not told me what color she wants but eruption green is a possibility. I am not against this but I’ve never owned anything but two door cars in my entire life. For the most part. Thoughts?
Be ready to have a 2.3T that gets nearly the same MPG as my dads 7.3L Super duty.
