I prefer the regular plug and play, but dont know what which to get 5k, 6k etc. I would like to NOT have the running lights over power the front end of the car when on like the diode dynamics do.
Have you seen the DD running lights in person? They really look factory. Everyone who has seen them think the car came with them.

I have only seen the video posted by them and that video made them appear brighter than everything else on the front end. Do you have a pic/video?

I have them and you are correct, they look just like they do on the video. They don't quite fit with the stock signature lighting.

The tribar is a soft diffused light while the DD switchbacks are a bright pinpoint light.

That being said, it is not something that is a problem with DD, it is the design of the lights themselves. The signals are simply not the same as the gills, which is a problem that exists with the stock amber.

IMO, it looks 1000x better than stock even with the difference and I think it will be a perfect match with smoked/tinted signals.

So I got my my DD switchback lights in and I was highly disappointed. First it seems like the bulb doesn't really fit in the package, but I didn't worry about that too much. I pull the bulbs out of the package, and I notice this

There is a slight gap in one of them. I wiggle it to see if was loose and then this happens

It removed itself from its housing. Not something you want to see from something brand new. [emoji58]

That is another thing we are addressing in the next production run of these bulbs. We have not actually seen that issue with any customers (until now) but we did see it on one during QC.

We will be contacting everyone who purchased and offering exchange at no cost, as soon as we have the new bulbs. We are no longer shipping these. While quite a few of you have them installed and are looking great, it seems they are just too buggy right now.

I am honestly very disappointed in our performance with this particular product. We focused on the LED and electrical design, and that part of this bulb is still really awesome. Brighter than anything else out there, perfect digital timing on the dual color circuit. Clearly though, we did not check the tooling and molding on the base carefully enough, leading to the fitment issues and the issue above. The electrical design is meaningless if you can't install it.

We'll be back very soon with all the bugs ironed out, and the quality, reliable product you all expect and deserve. I really appreciate everyone's patience, and I do apologize for any frustration caused by our mistakes.

Hey Paul. I placed an order for the switchbacks last week. I'm not sure if it was shipped but I would rather wait for the new ones without problems. I hope I won't have to pay to exchange the bulbs since I am in Canada.

I decided to put in the non damaged bulb just to see what it looks like and how it functions and these are the results. Sorry for the iPhone pics

I don't mind the double clicking when the turn signals are on, but personally I don't like the color. The temperature doesn't match with the LED fog lights or the HID headlights. Just looks a little off to me. DD, any chance you guys will make an all amber LED for the front signals?

I honestly kind of like the stock amber look. I've changed all of the interior bulbs to LED and not sure if I'll bother with the exterior just yet (other than the reverse CREE LED bulb).

Add me to those interested in an all amber LED as well. Otherwise, eBay for me!

You will not be responsible for any costs in exchanging.

Yes, we actually have three options for standard amber LED turn signals. All have been on the market for quite some time and use a different base connector than our new switchback bulb, so they do not exhibit the same issues we are seeing with that connector. Please PM for more info!

Is there any way to disable the parking light itself and only have the amber turn signal? On standard bulbs like the 1157 you can just cover one of the contacts. Can you just cover/clip one of the wires on the base of these?

Yes, we came to the same conclusion, they pop right off if you get the right spot. You want to use a very small tool to pull back on the bottom corner on the inner side. Here's the install video!

Regarding the vanity lights, I noticed they are a bit more dim due to the direction the LED is facing (concentrated into the bracket) vs. the omnidirectional OEM bulb. Just wanted to let everyone know that you can use a small strip of reflective foil tape and bend it around the bracket to more evenly distribute light from the LEDs.

Certainly- I would recommend using a small piece of electrical tape to avoid permanently modifying your bulb, but you'd just need to cover or clip the bottom left and top right pins, if you are looking straight down at the connector.

You'd basically be converting from 7443 to 7440 (single filament version of 7443)

Perfect - with that in mind, do you have a 7440 that fits the Mustang?
