[Not sure where this needs to be posted... but I as trying to fix an exhaust leak on my 2019 Mustang GT after having an H pipe put on. I assumed it was the Steeda clamps because they are pretty weak. So I replaced them with double walled clamps. When checking for a leak from the H pipe I noticed water dropping from the driver side clamp right behind the cat. Before I try to seal it where permitex I wanted to make sure it isn’t suppose to allow water to drip. I assume it’s a leak but I don’t know how it leaked when I never touched it unless wiggling the pipes caused it to form a leak. Here’s the clamp in question.

The water is dripping from the slit at the back of the clamp.

won't say it's normal to drip there but any time you run a gas engine warming up the exhaust pipes you generate a little water vapor. It's what you see in cold weather! and it dries out as the pipes get warm enough. Mine drips after starting it and shutting it back down, I personally wouldn't seal it, it has to go somewhere and you might smell the permatex when pipes get hot? Jim

You don’t think it having water come out of there is where my exhaust leak actually was? It seems to sputter water a little. I just don’t see how it would have got loose when I never messed with anything that far up.

All clamped exhaust connections leak water, it's just the nature of the beast. I've never seen mine leak from there, but it's definitely possible.

Interesting lol. Do you have any metallic flutter sound? I got one since I installed the H pipe and I cannot figure out what is causing it. Figured it was just a leak somewhere

Use the soapy water trick. Spray it on any clamped joints when the car is cold, start it up, and see if you find any bubbling. Some is inevitable with clamped joints, but if you see a huge amount or huge bubbles that's a significant leak.

Had the same issue after installing my x-pipe. Was able to fix mine by adjusting the clamp, the fifth time trying different positions if finally stopped. By the way I used Permatex putting it together and it leaked anyway. Try to slide the clamp closer to the edge and if you have the room rotate so the bolt was more on top of the pipe, that worked for me.
