I was looking at the 2016 Volvo XC90 and I noticed that they are doing a "First edition" which they're only making 1927. The thing that caught my attention was the car is coming with a keyfob that show's its one of the "First edition" models. I wish that the 50th LE mustang's keyfob could show that it's one of the LE Models. What does everybody else think?

Maybe throw the Mustang 50 years logo on it.

Presumably those Volvos are on some "official" registry, but if the existence of an engraved plate is all that is actually customized, then for about $10 I can have a unique plate engraved and stuck on just about any vehicle. Ah, the joys of marketing!

My wife has wanted an XC90 for quite some time, so I've been following the release of this new one. There are actually quite a bit of other special features that go into it, such as the color, interior, options, and yes, the plaque. Much like the LE Mustangs, actually.

I'm a fan of Volvos in general, but wouldn't bother with the limited edition.

I guess I just somewhat amused at the marketing. Since other customers could conceivably choose the exact same combinations as anyone else, then the number on the plaque would be the final differentiator.

Now if they offered customized embroidered seating, now that would be a different story!

At any rate, Volvos are nice vehicles. My sister drives one and really likes it.

Who knows maybe it does. AFAIK no one has actually seen the LE keyfob?

Well Bill Ford drove it out in the NY auto show. Maybe they left it in there, ill have to check pics.
