I have 20's and have no problems. I also have big rear tires, and an automatic I get the initial wheel spin, but she gets moving. What's your rear to tire size? Oh and my pointer would be don't dump the clutch lol.

It'll be a compromise , as short side wall that is designed to be stiff for handling corners at speed. on a prepped track, you may get tire hop. and that tends to break stuff.
I'd start out with a soft launch and work slowly up to harder launches off the line.
Idealy if you were to go drag racing alot , you'd find the smallest diameter wheel that clear your brakes in the rear and put the tallest sidewall drag radial on them and as wide as you can fit.
Small stiff sidewall tires don't recover well once they lose traction going down the strip, and with a lsd can send you into the wall or other car if not ready for it.
If for just a few times down the strip for fun. just work up to a launch that it'll go without bogging or the tires going up in smoke .and if the car gets out of shape up track, don't slam on the brakes or slam the throttle shut. drive through it as if you are on ice, also don't think your John Force and part of the never lift crowd either. think gentle throttle input when you are try'n to recover.

I would think a taller gear would be a must.
