In prep for the new wheels, what do people recommend for a 20" wheel?

9" in the front, 10.5" in the rear. Car is lowered if that makes a difference?

My first guess would be a 315/30 or a 305/35 on the rear.... sound reasonable?

Cheers.

think anything larger than 305 on rear you have catching issues without a little work. personaly i'd go with 295's in the rear think 305's are a little excessive.

We've fitted the same size set-up on a few customer cars (with Vossens)
20X9 - ET32 with 275/30R20
20X10.5 - ET45 with 305/30R20
We've fitted that with KWV1 and V3 with no clearance issues.

305 I believe is the cusp of the limit when 666mac did it, I think he's rolled his fenders now and runs 315s.

I am running 285/35 front and 295/35 rear on 20" 6GR fives with no rubbing issues whatsoever. Mine is also lowered on the Ford uk supplied Eibach sport springs which I believe are no longer available according to posts on here. Hope you get sorted. When I looked, 305's were far more expensive than 295's and the rolling radius was a bit out with the speedo according to my calcs.

I have a stock supsension ecoboost and went 315/35/20 in the back on 10.5 width wheels. Love the look but it pokes just a bit and I rub over certain dips in the road when I have a passenger or heavy load.

I know people say 315 is ok, and I love the look, but I plan to drop down to a 305 when I need new tires because the fitment is just a bit over-sized. I can only imagine it would be worse on a lower car.

Go with 305 width at the most IMO.

With the 6gr stock 20" offset tge 315 35 20 are close and rub 305 35 20 good or 295 35 20 for rear 285 35 20 fronts do catch shields 275 35 20 best for front 305 30 20 also good for rear but I'd recommend 35 profile my current set up 325 30 19 rear and 285 35 19 rear cup 2

I've got some 305/35-19 rear and 285/35-19 fronts stacked up in the garage waiting to be put on:thumbsup:

Which will be sooner rather than later following yesterday's linelock fun:lol::lol:

We run 275/35 and 315/35 on our STR wheels with a 9.5in front and 11in rear wheel with 59mm offset out back. There are no issues with this unless you go with an extreme drop.

My last car ran 305/35/19 MPSS no problem.

When my car finally arrives, my intention is to basically run the same setup as in the photo:-

P51s 19x11.5”....345/30s in the rear:headbang:

Doesn’t it depend on the offset? Str (see red steeda pic above) Mps M350 and project6gr seem to have less poke making them less likely to rub with fatter tyres...

Thanks for all the replies (and sorry for the delayed reply).

Looks like I need be aiming for a 305 or 295 on the rear then, with a 35 profile.

Fronts should be a 275 35.

Prices for 315s (here in NL) are *very* reasonable. Will have a play and see whats better between the 295 and 305 come Spring time when I need to order. :)

The optimal tire width for a 9" rim is 255 and for a 10.5" is 285. You can go one cm wider, but anything more will make the tire bulge and have negative influence on it's precision.

Your selected wheel size is excellent for an EcoBoost, but not ideal for a GT. On a GT I would run 10" wide in the front with ET35 and a 265/35/20 and 11" in the rear with ET50 and a 295/35/20. Take a look for example at what the guys at Project 6GR did. They nailed the wheel specs for the S550 GT. All other sizes and ETs are a compromise, ususally due to having to deal with limited available sizes on universal aftermarket wheel brands.

see this is why i hate picking wheel sizes out you say 10" on front and 265 yet steeda above says they run 275 on 9.5"
