Knock/Thud Below Arm Rest

I get a knock or thud that can be felt through the seat and arm rest at the start of a launch. Not enough throttle to chirp the tires but not a normal amount of throttle. Maybe 75% from a stop. Not sure if its wheel hop or the drive shaft hitting the tunnel. Any ideas. It doesnt happen if I floor it after getting going.

The guibo/center support to the 2-piece driveshaft is in that location.

If you still have the 2-piece shaft, safely get the car up in the air and check the guibo for deterioration and/or missing bolts. Some M6G members have found missing bolts and also tears/damages to the actual guibo around the bolt holes. There is a thread on here with DIY for replacing the guibo and part info.

Also check the torque of the bolts at the trans flange and check your trans cross member bracing as well.

unless you've braced your diff or at least done the sleeves, it is wiggling all over the place and twisting in it's mounts which will put force into the guibo.

A stock Mustang is not designed to take anything more than "sensible" throttle use.
