Dropped my car off this morning at the dealer to have the rear view camera recall done, but also to look into the keyless entry issues I have. They gave me a Mitsubishi Outlander loaner (🤮)

They have told me my issues are normal, and it’s working as designed. With my car locked, and keys in pocket if I press the button above the tag nothing happens. I have to either press the trunk button on the fob, or unlock the doors first. After the doors are unlocked then I can press the button above the tag and the trunk will open. I tested it on another car on the dealer lot with the service adviser and it worked as it should. The advisor told me, “this car is a gt premium and yours is not, this feature only works on a premium” to which I had my salesman grab the keys to a base, no option at all 300a, GT. It worked as designed there as well. I have no hope that they’ll actually fix it, but who knows? Anyone else with a 2020 have this problem?

There is a thread on this issue. I’ll try and find it.

Update

I picked up my car today, the keyless issue appears to be fixed, and the rear camera has been replaced.
The notes on the repair order are

“Checked the doors passive keyless entry feature found it takes a few seconds to work, trunk is inop. EEC Test no dtc’s, ran oasis no TSB’s or SSM’s. Went to WSM Symptom chart: handles, locks, latches, and entry systems - Electrical PPT S1 result (yes) got to PPT S2 result (yes) go to PPT S3 result (yes) go to PPT S4 result (no) go to PPT S5 result (yes) go to PPT S6 result (yes) go to PPT S16 result (yes) still working slow. Reprogram BCM to new update and concern is fix.”
