Key fob person/settings specific?

Someone told me that the key fobs are different meaning that you can 'train' each fob.

To be more specific let's say my wife uses one fob and has different mirror and seat settings and I use the other with my own settings.

Car should be able to tell which fob is being used and adjust those settings accordingly?

Can't seem to get it to work? Anyone?
