On my GT PP, I purchased Continental DWS All-season tires and put them on over the winter. Would you keep these on for the summer or throw back on the stock Pirelli's that come on the PP wheels?

My GT is a DD and I felt the Pirelli's felt a bit sharper and more responsive turning but maybe this was just my own subjective opinion. Any truth as to whether the Pirelli is a tire in warm weather?

I'd leave them. Whenever my Mustang isn't at the track, it's on those exact tires. They're a little soft-sidewalled for a heavy sports car but they're great tires. Daily driving does not require a summer tire... anywhere, on any car, ever. It's just a preference thing. Add 2 extra lbs. of air to the Conti tires and they'll sharpen up with very little harshness added, if any noticed.

I'd keep them for winter. I had planned to myself but I keep getting screwed on ordering new wheels and had to keep driving on them. This is a year and a half including last summer. 0 burnouts. My theory is that for a heavy car they're just not a great idea.

all the reviews say there excellent all season tire so why would you take them off if you already have them?

Because tread depth matters in the winter. While they are not a winter tire when they're at full depth or close to it they are very good in the snow. I specifically bought these for snow so the car would still drive and handle excellent when it is dry or clear of snow just very cold and below freezing.. which is pretty much 95% of Toronto winters.

And because I'm going wider and lower profile for summer and lower. They don't make the sizes I need for summer and definitely don't handle how I would like as well. For the winter they are great.

Just got myself 275/35/20 to run all season as the tire suggests. Just not sure a stock gt needs a drag radial for just daily driving .i do now ever have drag wheels for the rear for track days

So I guess I'm keeping the Conti's on. I did take the advice and added +2 lbs in each tire though I didn't feel much difference. I have under 2K miles on the original Pirreli's..maybe I can sell them.

Do you have summer tires? If DWS are only tires you have just drive them.

Yes, leave them. They grip great in the summer too

I'd save them for winter and use the Pirellis.

5 year old zombie thread, and not even a very spicey one. 0/5 stars.
