They will be much better. Jon bad things will happen with full throttle on oem tires in the cold. Don't do it. They are for 55 degrees and up.
I agree, i've had my car accidentally far more sideways than i would have liked from those cold Pirellis.

Drove in the rain today and I am totally impressed. The wet traction is very very good.

I am very happy

I ordered them for my wife's 2013 Ford Edge Sport and they came in today. The tread looks great. Installing tomorrow.

Contis tires typically have soft sidewalls. Getting a 30 or 35 series helps with steering reaction and road feel a good deal. Even a 40 series isn't that bad. The DWS/06 are great in the rain, do a good job in snow (for an all season) and have OK grip for performance driving, but will chunk if pushed too hard. I've driven on DWS tires in everything but track (I have autocross). Overall, an excellent daily driver, all season, sport tire.

I know this is an older post but I am really glad to read this on these tires. I was going to get the BFG Comp-2 A/S but they are completely sold out and on back order with no sign of them returning within the next month. So these are going to be about $300 more which sucks but I am hoping they are a better tire for that money. Going with 275-315/35/20's

Just a small point I noticed about the DWS06. In the 255/40/19, they are only 25 lbs. while most of the competition is 29-31. My factory Pirelli P Zero Nero's are 29. A four pound drop for tire only is a great advantage as well, especially since all the loss is furthest away from the hub. I know a good amount of people are going wider on the tires and lighter on the wheels but the last time I went to a lighter wheel and wider tire, I only dropped 5 lbs on my 2012 GT.
