A stock car is worth more than a modified car when selling so it's always a good idea to keep hold of you stick parts. The amount of times I heard "I would have bought your 350z if it wasn't modified" drove me crazy.

I discussed this with Mike at the garage.

As the old exhaust is one piece (!) it is hard to transport - Mike has offered that he is probably going to have at least 1 of these available in the future and thus I can leave mine there.

At present he has mine and 1 other....

I am thinking on whether to have the old one transported somehow to my home; not sure. I can see that if and when I sell the mustang, someone may (if they are crazy) want the old exhaust. For me, it's just scrap though.

hmmm. still thinking on it.

Why not cut the exhaust as if you were going to add axle backs for easy transport. It can always be rejoined if needed later...i.e. MOT.

In 'normal' terms, that's certainly usually the case - however modding Mustangs tends to be the norm, not the exception. Provided you have the right (read desireable) mods - you can actually get a premium over stock cars.

This was certainly the case with my S197.

But I'd agree - keep hold of the stock parts if you can.

Wouldn't bank on your exhaust lasting more than a week. Mike at Modurmaro has a habit of converting them into object d'art....notice the snake made of old control arms as you go in. :lol:

As an aside, you reminded me that I really need to buy an oil separator. The Coyote needs a catch-can something chronic.

It does look good but since they managed to ignore an email about the mounting bracket being suitable for RHD (I assumed it would be but we all know where that gets us, don't we!), I went with UPR instead.

Oh really, that's a shame. I would want one that is fixed somehow and not just loose in the engine bay

UPR do a bracket for theirs but TBH the pipes are solid enough to support it so I didn't bother.

Nice upgrades, can I ask you if your Roush Air Intake had to be re-mapped or any modifications from stock. Did you order from the USA or home grown. Any updates on RHD strut braces.

The Roush air intake (which I got from CJ Pony in USA) comes with an insert in the tube towards the inlet manifold. This means that for first install you don't need to retune the engine. Later, when you take out the insert, then a retune will be needed.....

The redline gas struts (also from CJ Pony) did need a bit of fettling by Lee at ModUrStang - grinding down the brackets - as the bonnet hinges on EU models is different from that in the USA. Unclear why there is a difference? Anyhow, the shaping of the brackets didn't seem to take Lee that long - it was a matter of measuring, grinding, check fit, grind some more etc

Once installed, the gas struts are very easy to use - they have a spot with the front of the bonnet a foot and a bit above the bonnet latch - where you can drop the bonnet to engage the latch. Above that neutral point, the struts engage and gently push the bonnet open - seems not to put too much stress on the bonnet hinges; not warping the bonnet.

I agree that keeping the stock parts is a good idea - I have all the parts except the exhaust - and am still thinking on how to resolve that.

Mishimoto is well made, just get the standard catchcan and make a bracket so that it bolts in the spare hole near the washer filler.You can get some steel from B&q drill some holes and bend and spray black, make some hoses job done.The saikou can next to it is one of the best I have seen but it's just too big Imo for fitting,I wanted it out the way but it proved difficult.
