For you.
I'd doubt most of us here will ever be able to drive well enough to fully exploit the car's potential to begin with. Making it faster should be of little interest to almost all of us.

Hey, I track my car! 8 HPDE's already and counting... no overheating issues and in the advanced group. I can put up some respectable laps and times down here in So. FL. :D

I do agree though... the non-aspirated VooDoo engine will be better for the track. I can't wait!

Our shop car (2015 Z07) lasted 10mins and 42 seconds on track here in Texas on a 77 degree day with a Pro driver behind the wheel and the car 100% stock.

It should be able to take the likes of a pro driver stock...if we had a cam/pulley/headers...different story. Never have been a fan of supercharged track cars.

Not everyone wants the gt350 or R for handling. Just like some people turned 302 Bosses into drag cars. If handling is what someone wants, I cant see much more then tunes or bolt ons being done.

This car is a track car from the factory. When you look at all the enginering that went into all aspects of this car, why would you add any aftermarket parts? Look at the headers and exhaust for example (works of art). Can you even imagine getting a car like this from the factory even 5 years ago? I feel sorry for aftermarket companys nowadays. Cars from the setero to the exhaust are coming needing next to nothing from the aftermarket.

Because people can. Not everyone wants what comes from the factory. Im sure there will be people that will change the suspension for even better handling. For some people factory production cars aren't fast enough. This car will not be exempt from mods. People will supercharge it, people will turbo it. There will be people that wants to max out NA power. That's what a lot of car people do. Its not a sin to mod this car. I modded the piss out of my 14 gt500. Why? Because it wasn't even close to fast enough, it was slow.

You may be right about the beauty of the car and how well it has been built coming straight from the factory but in all honest 526HP is not even fast. Being realsitic who is going to be using this car only for track purposes? Im suse most of us will be using it as DD. Everyone has their own taste but for me this car is capable of reaching 650+ HP.

The main push behind mods is always to do something that sets your car apart from the rest. Its 90% personalization and 10% about wanting more from the canvas you have to start with.

Only thing I'm looking at initially will be wheels.. (lighter wheels specifically) and I will wait to see how the exhausts that come out sound, other than that it comes with more than enough power. I don't even want a "tune"

You have to remember that this car is built under a framework of regulations - noise and emissions for the parameters of the exhaust for example. If someone releases a set of long tube headers that adds 30hp/30tq and does not degrade acoustics, I would consider them especially if it adds some of that power below 3k rpm.

Unofficial of course, but some folks were reporting the R putting out 103dB at laguna. That is ungodly loud for a factory car...im guessing they didnt leave much on the table in terms of exhaust restrictions

Goodluck to the OP finding a car at a decent price. Getting your hands on a GT350 is going to be much harder than just about any camaro made

I'll be shocked if longtube headers have no impact on performance, but I guess we'll see once a tuner gets an opportunity to play around with one.

Fixed for ya Boss^.

OP, take a look at some of the threads regarding supercharging this engine. Also, watch Ben Collins drive the GT 350 R at the Goodwood Festival of Speed and tell him 526 hp isn't fast. No offense to you or anyone else who wants more power, or doesnt want to road race the car, but unless you are a pro driver 526 hp is more than you would ever be able to handle in the environment this car is made for. That being said, most people wanting to supercharge it just want a big number so they can brag and do burn outs or bench race or whatever. Maybe for a person who strictly wants to drag race the car that power could be utilized, but drag racing isnt really the purpose of this car (please no one start with the "I can drag race it if i want to!").

There are a TON of people who will be buying this car for what its made for, track racing. Maybe Camaro guys aren't used to that, but over here you will find plenty of guys on tracks with this car. If you get one you should definitely consider taking it to some track days. Thats what the car is built for and you would have a blast.

Generally speaking, if you can't effectively use all the power that an engine produces all the time, the car is overpowered....

Where I live I can drop the CAT's since there's no emissions requirements on inspections.

So the resonators and the Cats...... both get put aside.

Should be good for an extra 15 to 20 db over the GT350's.

I think that is far too broad a definition. I would say that if you can NEVER use all the power, then the car is overpowered. But if you are sometimes able to use all the power, then the car isn't overpowered at all.
