I had a switch originally for center but I had to get in there afterwards to look at sub wiring or something

I just pulled the wires off for the button. Lol never turning it in again

Hi everyone, I would like to bump this thread and ask a question. Recently bought a GT with 9 speaker config, trying to pop out the green wire. Does the white plastic tab have to be removed completely out in order to push the pin out or just put it in popped out position?

remove the white piece and use a very thin screwdriver to release the pin. I filed a screwdriver to fit.

I'm still hoping Ford provides some kind of update to SYNC or whatever that lets us enable/disable the center speaker through the normal audio controls for balance.

Where is the green wire mentioned above, how hard is it to get to?
I am thinking out loud, but The plate on dash with the ubs plug and cig lighter outlet on either end and a blank space in the middle would be a great spot for a push on and off button to wire into that green wire, So you still have the option to have it off, or on, instead of just cutting the wire and it being off all the time.

Which green wire do I snip for the center speaker? This is a 2019 with the B&O sound system.

There is a video on YT about how to remove the panel without damaging it. You will want to zip tie the speaker wire connector to the harness to prevent it from rattling around after the speaker is removed.

Hi All

As a lazy man's alternative, I used a piece of black flexible rubber and attached 2 thin rods so that they fit in the slots. It blocks much of the sound without cutting anything.

Looks are OK, but I pull it off for car shows.

Let me know if you want a picture.

2021 Mach 1 center speaker was disconnected and it sounds way better. Simply unplug and tie up. No cutting wires.
Slightly loosen top of gauge bezel just enough to pry up the center cover from the front sides. Then it pulls forward.

Do you have a picture of what you actually did? It seems there was a risk of damaging it in another thread. Thanks!

With plenty of forum discussion around disconnecting or removing the centre speaker, is there any value in replacing the speaker with something better.
