Delivery/Customer Service: I contacted Vinny and he did a great job in setting me up for purchase. Since I live in Hawaii, the JLT website won't just let me click and order like everybody else in the continental U.S. Shipping costed a whopping $56, but that was to be expected. What surprised me is that I received the package within 3 days. That might be the fastest I've ever gotten something of that size in the mail. The CAI was well packaged. The box wasn't all dented up and there was a lot of paper padding to keep the parts nice and cushioned.

Install: Overall, the install was very simple. The directions didn't mention disconnecting the battery before you start, but I did it just to be safe. The hardest part of the whole process was attaching the reducer to the intake tube. It was a REALLY tight fit. I ended up heating it up a bit to make it more pliable. That seemed to do the trick.

Sound: I've owned a couple of CAI's (open air box) in the past and this JLT seems to have a very mild sound in comparison. I like it. It has a good sound when you get on it, but it's nowhere near as obnoxious as some of the others on the market.

Performance: I haven't put my car on the dyno and have no intention to do so within the near future. However, my butt dyno tells me I've gained some power. The throttle response is a lot better than stock. To me, the car feels a lot more free flowing. I also have an axle back exhaust with a resonator delete. I haven't had much time to drive since installing the CAI, but I definitely feel an improvement compared to the stock air intake system.

Overall, I feel that it was worth waiting for the JLT CAI. They definitely did their homework and have a high quality product to show for it. Hopefully this little review will help people with their decision on what route they want to go as it relates to CAI's.

Thanks for sharing Bronson!

As for the battery disconnect, not 100% required as you're not disconnecting any sensors. However not a bad idea to do this to reset all of the computer learning of fuel trims so it relearns with the intake faster.

The reducer is a tight fit- is the biggest understatement of the century!!! I have a 73mm BBK throttle body and was about to give up! I got it on but, I need to re-adjust it. How did you heat it up? I was thinking about using hand sanitizer (the clear alcohol type) to quickly lube the throttle body lip so the JLT black rubber piece can slide into place and then the sanitizer should (in theory) dry. I have a heat gun, would that work?

Regarding the performance, it is GREAT! I can even hear a bit of a whistle when I give it the beans! Nice! Also, I think my exhaust sounds a tad deeper in tone and the throttle response is much more immediate at tip in. Feels a bit more torquey over all.

Did you have an issue with the mounting bolt not catching properly to the inner fender- well? I did. Not sure why it just wouldn't catch the original threads.

I'm glad I did purchase from JLT, as their customer service is second to none!

I bet the J clip that holds the threads has moved out of the hole. Take the bolt back out and lift up on the air box to see under it, it's a silver threaded clip. It doesn't take much to have it misalign when reinstalling the shield.

Thanks for the feedback!

Thank you very Much!, I will be sure to check to see if that is the cause of the non-threading issue.

Thanks for the reviews guys as we are happy to have the kit out and shipping.

As Vinny said, the clip moved I'm sure, it happens.
The coupler/reducer is tight as we wanted to make the TB end as large as possible, but with a little elbow grease it slides on nicely.

Again, thanks for the feedback

I just used my heat gun on low to warm it up a little. Still tight, but it went on after a while:thumbsup:

You could purchase it from one of the vendors or direct. Some of the vendors do not offer the paint matched version.

If you order direct use the discount code MF6g5% at checkout for our forum discount!

I wanted to bump this thread by saying the kit has CARB approval and is completely legal as of a few months ago for sale in CA!

Let me know if anyone has any questions.

Thanks,

Vinny
