Delivery/Customer Service: I contacted Vinny and he did a great job in setting me up for purchase. Since I live in Hawaii, the JLT website won't just let me click and order like everybody else in the continental U.S. Shipping costed a whopping $56, but that was to be expected. What surprised me is that I received the package within 3 days. That might be the fastest I've ever gotten something of that size in the mail. The CAI was well packaged. The box wasn't all dented up and there was a lot of paper padding to keep the parts nice and cushioned.
Install: Overall, the install was very simple. The directions didn't mention disconnecting the battery before you start, but I did it just to be safe. The hardest part of the whole process was attaching the reducer to the intake tube. It was a REALLY tight fit. I ended up heating it up a bit to make it more pliable. That seemed to do the trick.
Sound: I've owned a couple of CAI's (open air box) in the past and this JLT seems to have a very mild sound in comparison. I like it. It has a good sound when you get on it, but it's nowhere near as obnoxious as some of the others on the market.
Performance: I haven't put my car on the dyno and have no intention to do so within the near future. However, my butt dyno tells me I've gained some power. The throttle response is a lot better than stock. To me, the car feels a lot more free flowing. I also have an axle back exhaust with a resonator delete. I haven't had much time to drive since installing the CAI, but I definitely feel an improvement compared to the stock air intake system.
Overall, I feel that it was worth waiting for the JLT CAI. They definitely did their homework and have a high quality product to show for it. Hopefully this little review will help people with their decision on what route they want to go as it relates to CAI's.
