My car (2019 GT Auto) has been using oil from the day I bought it. It uses a quart every 2000-2500 miles. A couple of months ago I decided to install a passenger side JLT oil catch can to see how much of this oil usage was due to blow by through the PCV system. After driving approximately 1500 miles, the catch can was 1/3 full. So there is a fair amount of oil being lost via the PCV system. Just sharing my experience as I know the debate over whether an oil catch can is necessary is till going on.

If your engine burns a quart every 2500 miles I would seek out a reason and repair..

I have two vehicles with 5.0s and my F150 has the JLT and it prob catches an ounce of oil a month
and the truck seems to always have close to 8 quarts in it on the dip stick after 10000 miles when I do my oil changes

I do my oil changes every 5000 miles, and no usage at all. Maybe a half a tea spoon in the catch can.

After 4500 miles, there was about a teaspoon of oil in my catch can. Burning a quart every 2500 miles is concerning. Have it checked out.

A lot of these engines are using a quart every 2000-2500 miles. Ford will do absolutely nothing about it. To fail the consumption test you have to be using a quart in 1000 miles or less (which is absurd). Mine was using about 1qt per 2000miles, but it's gotten better over time. Now that I'm past 10,000 miles it's not using much.

With that said, when I had my catch can installed I noticed a lot of what it was collecting wasn't oil, but rather fuel and water.

I did ask the dealer about an oil consumption test and was told that the car would have to use a quart in less than 1000 miles to qualify for any repairs. I will check the catch can again to see if it is all oil or if there is water and/or fuel in the mix.

this! Do not confuse what is in the catch can with oil consumed. Catch can is a mix of things.

Well, whatever it is in the catch can, I think it's better in there than my throttle body/intake system.

If you are running it like you stole it then it should use very little oil between oil changes. I have 3000 miles on mine and have used no oil.
