I was working with Brian @ J&M over the last couple weeks regarding their fixed ss clutch line. I’ve seen that this only had fitment for the Mach 1, but I came across a video where a GT350 owner installed one a while ago.

This sparked Brian’s interest and so he sent me a line to test fit. While I had the car up doing R calipers and J&M brake lines, I also installed the clutch line.

It was a perfect install, even with a quite bulky heat protectant sheath that I put over it. I preferred this line over other aftermarket ones as more than have of it is fixed stainless. The last piece of braided hose likely gives it just enough play to fit well.

the Steeda line is just long enough for the Mach 1. And it makes the job a pain in the ass. If it where a bit stiffer and an inch longer it would have been much easier.

The problem I had was the elbow kept popping off the transmission. It would seem to be seated, and the clip would be all the way in, but then it would pop off. This meant unhooking the top, so you could get the bottom in again. I rinsed and repeated three times before it stayed on.

In the end I had to push the line up to other side of the engine bay so I could twist the elbow into place securely. Then the little clip just slid right in and it held pressure. If it had just a bit more slack that could have all been avoided.
