My car has 401A. I'm connecting my iPhone 6 via a USB lightning cable under the armrest. The car recognizes the phone connection and has completed the indexing process. However, it refuses to allow me to play music via the touch screen. I can browse albums and select song titles, but when it goes to play the selected song, the screen says "Unknown Artist / Unkown Title" and no sound can be heard. If I select songs directly from my iPhone, however, everything is fine. The artist, song title, album art, etc. is displayed on the touch screen and sound can be heard through the speakers.

Has anyone else had this problem? What's the fix?

Try doing a master reset of the sync module. Should be in the sync settings. My base model does this and that usually fixes it for me. The sync modules are the same between our cars so the process should work for you.

The reset is in Settings (I think System) on the MFT. Just be aware, after you do it, you have to power cycle the system (via car on/off, not radio on/off). Additionally, it resets everything, including paired phones and other personalized settings such as the wallpaper.
