I have a 2016 Ecoboost Premium PP, I just reached 3,000 miles on it and for a while now I've noticed a fair amount of the times I shift into 2nd from 1st around 2-4K RPM I'll feel a pushback through the shifter as its falling into second like something is deflecting my shifter away. It's only felt and heard directly down through my hand and really only happens in 2nd. I'm used to the notchy feeling of each gear, as if there's a narrowed gate before it falls in but something about 1st to 2nd. It's like shifting through gravel or that there's metal finger flicking my shifter. Some times it'll fall right in without any oddity but it's been concerning me because I don't know what's going on. I should add that I've tried to replicate the problem with my foot on the clutch to the floor and it will still happen. It doesn't sound like a high pitched grind it's similar to a slow, grunt before going into 2nd. I live in Florida and the temps have been 75-85 Fahrenheit mostly. If anyone has any input or would like me to give any more info for some feedback I'd appreciate it.

It is like shifting through gravel isn't it! I get the same thing here and there. I'm over in the UK dealing with "winter" (38-53 Fahrenheit). 2016 Ecoboost PP as well with about 4800 miles on the clock.
Come to think of it, mine hasn't done the 1-2 clunk in a while. I installed the Steeda MT-82 transmission mount bushing a while back.

So the thud is more like a dull knock that you can here and feel in the car as a whole. At least in my car anyway. It sounds just like a thud, dull knock or something. I can feel it in every gear when shifting and when sitting at a light when throwing the car back in gear after being in neutral. Unless I shift really slow I don't feel it.
