I have a 2016 Ecoboost Premium PP, I just reached 3,000 miles on it and for a while now I've noticed a fair amount of the times I shift into 2nd from 1st around 2-4K RPM I'll feel a pushback through the shifter as its falling into second like something is deflecting my shifter away. It's only felt and heard directly down through my hand and really only happens in 2nd. I'm used to the notchy feeling of each gear, as if there's a narrowed gate before it falls in but something about 1st to 2nd. It's like shifting through gravel or that there's metal finger flicking my shifter. Some times it'll fall right in without any oddity but it's been concerning me because I don't know what's going on. I should add that I've tried to replicate the problem with my foot on the clutch to the floor and it will still happen. It doesn't sound like a high pitched grind it's similar to a slow, grunt before going into 2nd. I live in Florida and the temps have been 75-85 Fahrenheit mostly. If anyone has any input or would like me to give any more info for some feedback I'd appreciate it.

The 'thud', afaik, is an actual *THUD* sound/feel when shifting. It feels like someone is kicking the bottom of my seat.

Alright, so if this is in fact the "thud" then the best my dealership can do is put a lower viscosity transmission fluid in my vehicle and live with it? If so that's alright, my Cobb Accessport came in yesterday and I'm itching to upload the tune but this has held me back in case I needed to make a warranty claim.

I don't think fluids can solve this issue. It's simply the backlash in the gears. When you shift gear unloading and loading the gears, they bang against each other.
The only way I find when I had the RX-8 is to apply gas a little earlier before letting out the clutch to avoid momentary off-on gas transition.
