Hey, I posted a thread before in the Issues section of the forum, but after some more driving I was able to pinpoint one of my few grievances with my 2016 EB Base Mustang to either the shifter or the transmission.

I hear a low whistling/whirring noise while in first and second gears. When the engine is cold, for the first drive of the day for example, the sound is pretty loud. After it warms up it persists. I did some investigating, and pretty much when the car is in neutral, if I push the shifter to the left, toward the first/second/reverse gears, right where it stops if I'm not pulling up go get into reverse, I can reproduce the sound. Still very faint. If i put it into first or second gear, the shifter is obviously held in place toward the left, and the sound is present. It almost feels and sounds as if the gears are moving in very close proximity to the reverse gear. There is no grinding or anything like that, and when the car warms up, it pretty much goes away (maybe after ~10 minutes of driving).

Is this something to be concerned about?

Also sometimes during my more spirited driving sessions, as I let off of the accelerator in those two gears after revving to maybe 5k RPM, the sound is present along with a rattling noise around the shifter. Again, 90% of it goes away after 10 minutes of driving when the car is pretty warmed up.

It was particularly loud today so I went back out to make a video and record it but when I started driving again, it wasn't there.

Thank you

i get the whirring in first and beginning of second sometimes. Don't think it's anything to worry about
