  • The CDC was denied permission by the White House to brief the public on the coronavirus crisis, a source at the agency told Yahoo News.
  • The CDC found itself unable to do public briefings for three months, beginning not long after a senior official warned in late February that the virus was likely to hit the US hard.
  • At the time, this was a sharp contrast with predictions from President Donald Trump, who argued that the coronavirus did not seriously threaten the US.
  • Between March 9 and June 12 there were no CDC briefings. In that period, Trump increasingly led communications on the virus, spreading false claims and touting unproven cures.

And then defunded the WHO...the same group who issued a warning that Trump chose to ignore. Other than all of that, job well done.

I don't think all of those were sincere. Apart from Reagan and Bush Sr., all the others sound like cheap non-apologies to me, just like kids who say "sorry" because they've been caught and know that's what you want to hear. Would Clinton have confessed and apologized if he hadn't been caught? Not likely. Was Kennedy indeed sorry for having ordered the invasion in the first place, or just for having failed? Most likely the latter. Would he have apologized for the invasion if it had been successful? Not likely.
The question wasn't about sincerity, moreover, that is subjective. The fact leaders did issue an apology or take responsibility is what was questioned. Any good leader will tell you the buck stops at them, not that they take no responsibility like a child.

WHO admits China never reported the existence of coronavirus outbreak
https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/...eported-the-existence-of-coronavirus-outbreak
"The WHO quietly updated its “Timeline of WHO’s response to COVID-19” on Tuesday following the House Foreign Affairs Committee Republicans' mid-June Interim Report on Origins of COVID-19 Pandemic (led by ranking member and China task force Chairman Rep. Michael McCaul of Texas), which concluded that “despite public reporting to the contrary ... China never notified the WHO about the outbreak in Wuhan.” The change was spotted by McCaul and first reported by the Washington Free Beacon."

Doesn't seem like a direct admission from WHO as the title would have people believe.

The AP article who first reported it, says the WHO was made aware on an open source platform after the CDC sent a team to Wuhan. It doesn't say they never reported it. This title is trying to twitch the WHO, saying they weren't getting ENOUGH information into they were getting NO information

The exact claim under dispute is that originally, everyone thought the Wuhan health commission reported the cases to the WHO. Now some clowns are apparently alleging that technically the WHO first found out via social media because Wuhan first issues some internal documents directing agents to go investigate the cases. I feel that's an absolute non-issue, as you'd expect the health authority to actually start the investigation before notifying world political bodies, but we're in the spit hairs to control the narrative as much as possible phase, so I guess you can call it whatever the fuck you want because it does not matter.

We want to have facilities and scientists in China because we want to be there on the ground when things happen and have up to date information the sec it happens. We must play nice with them so that we aren't left in the dark for discovering and testing new or developing diseases as China has a very diverse ecosystem. There is a lot more to this but you have to remain open-minded as to why the scientific community does things the way it does.

back to the original title of the thread.....yes. I think president big baby tiny hands is done! Put a fork in him! Never in the history of our nation have we seen such a lack of leadership as we float through a major pandemic like a boat with no rudder. Job numbers came out yesterday and big baby couldn’t wait to get on tv and claim them as his own. Now that we are seeing the second round of closings because his dumb ass wouldn’t listen to our scientist what do you think he will do when the next set of numbers come out? “That’s not my fault!

The only bright side is that he has performed so horribly that some of the folks that were duped into voting for him the first time are now realizing and admitting that they were in fact duped.

The video I just posted would suggest that some of them will remain duped (if they know what the word means)

Job numbers are great - if you ignore the catastrophic fall that came before it. Was that Trump's fault ? No it was COVID19, but taking the plaudits for the recovery, that isn't him either.

As to where the US goes next - god help you - especially in the southern states.

I'm a moderator on another forum. We have been having a debate on allowing Political and current event discussions.

Thanks to you guys I have changed my position and am now against it

I thought most people were for freedom of speech, I am. If you want to fly a BLM flag, I say have at it. If someone else wants to fly a Northern Virginia battle flag, so be it. If someone wants to fly Old Glory with a blue stripe, so be it.

If everyone is so tolerant, why do we have riots?

I'll leave it at this. Think for yourself.

Oh yea, the 1st amendment was put there to protect speech that YOU find offensive.

Who’s offended here?
Where do you draw the line for tolerance? At what point is it “too much”?
Do you support the right of the Westboro Baptist church to picket the funerals of dead soldiers with their “god hates fags” signs or is that a step too far?
Would it be ok for a white supremacist group to talk freely about their plans for the eradication of entire populations?
Exactly how tolerant do you want to be?
Or could it be considered that your reluctance to allow ANY oppositional speech whatsoever is in fact intolerant of different ideas by its very nature?
I’m not accusing you of anything, I’m playing devils advocate because that often leads to a more robust appraisal of the possibilities.

Wouldn’t it be reasonable to say that progress has usually been made when the people stopped tolerating certain ideas? What made those people change their minds? Discussion and argument perhaps, leading to the careful consideration of a different point of view, or did they always require a government mandate? That’s a genuine question, one that might be worth considering,

I think it is important to let the paid Bloomberg trolls post their anti-Trump, "we hate America" crap on every web site in America, you know first amendment and all that stuff. I mean sure the BLM guys are Marxists who are openly pushing for armed revolution in America and they do not complain at all when a black person kills a black person or antifa kills black guys like they did in Seattle last week...................they have a right to push their violent communist position on any forum, even one about cars.

We should learn to embrace foreign trolls who claim to live in place like Australia and yet they post here, 24/7/365 and they are available at normal hours for America. I know it's weird but apparently people in Australia who hate America never sleep, it is almost like they are people in England who hate America. We should let them post their garbage under the 1st amendment, especially since they are paid per post by their socialist or Marxist bosses.

Try and look past the next four months of ranting leftists saying horrible things about our elected president. I'm sure when he gets re-elected in November in spite of one of the most extreme, hate filled, biased and dishonest elections in the history of the planet.......................things will get better.

I really like it when a semi-retarded leftist assumes anyone who disagrees with them is some sort of simpleton, as if my collection of college degrees isn't as good as their GED and participation trophies.

What a tragic post

Do you not see the ill chosen, aggressive, dismissive right wing rhetoric you post is one of the very reasons why the US is in so much trouble ? I don't hate America - I dislike extremists from right or left or any other form of extremism.

If I or others don't agree with your extreme views, we must be semi retarded, paid, left wing trolls ! Or are you a semi retarded, paid right wing troll I wonder :like:

Or maybe you are one of these ?

The problem comes when trying to debate with extremists (who usually don't realise they are extremists (left / right / religious) is that they have the following characteristics and it makes discussions quite difficult as they will not change their views or even see that other views are viable. You cannot change the mind of an extremist very easily hence the reason deradicalisation is so difficult. Luckily most of the world holds more considered and moderate views (including in the US) and it is these moderates who actually decide who governs (extreme right and left will never change their views and so cancel each other out)

The irony is that I have seen no evidence of extreme left wing posting on here (plenty of right wing) or at least not on a level that would be considered left wing in the UK. (Obama would be centre right in the UK - that is how right biased the US is) That isn't to say that you don't have left of your centre people in the US just that the whole political setup is skewed to the right compared to many other countries.

Extremist traits
  • Both are against any compromise with the other side.
  • Both are entirely sure of their position.
  • Both advocate and sometimes use violence to achieve their ends.
  • Both are nationalistic.
  • Both are intolerant of dissent within their group.
  • Both demonize the other side
