Hello,

I had this scratch on my door panel for about 5 months now , I believe it happened at a car wash, and it keeps bugging me Everytime I see it and I try to ignore it but can't no more lol. Is there any way to fix this?

You could try some 303 protectant but that will only hide it. The only fix is to replace it.

I’d try 303 to see how it looks.

Heat gun? Seems like this had been used to blend scratch out. If you are going to replace, you may want to try.

I've used meguiars products for years fir scratches like these.they have 3 compounding products which take scratch out,#1 is heavy duty,to #3 for lighter scratched.then after getting scratch out use #9 to take swirls out.they

can all be done by hand.you could also just try their 2xscrtach remover to start with.do a small section first to see if it works.good luck.if you don't want to fool with it have a professional detailer give it a shot.your car dealer service department will give you name.or check Angie's list,or call couple local car clubs, esp corvette guys to see who they recommend

You never use compound on plastic! It will scratch it way worse than it is. Use a heat gun to bring the oils back to the top. Lots of videos on you tube showing how to do it.

Agreed. Nothing to lose with 303. That stuff is pretty effective. Heatgun/blow dryer as step four.

I put a big scratch in my glovebox while installing my stereo, I use 303 as a protectant and it would not help hide the scratch. Heat gun does.

Yeah, hard to tell if OP was talking about the scratch on the car's hood, or the interior one. A car wash can't scratch the interior (an attendant can, but no mention of that), so I also thought it was the other one.

I'm with that, I thought that scratch on the fender was gonna be a tough repair at home. Then I saw the second photo. OP needs to stay away from sharp objects.

Its the interior door panel with the scratch. I didn't do it LOL, Im upset about it thought. Only thing I remember was noticing it a day later. So a Heat gun will do the trick?

I honestly don't think a heat gun can fix a scratch; never heard of that. It can fix grayed plastic, but not damage. Plus you run a very high risk of ruining the panel, especially if you have never done it before. I was also upset when I saw the scratches on the seat trim, and the lower dash, from aholes climbing on new cars throwing their freaking feet carelessly. And also scratching/scuffing seat bolsters. But they weren't bad enough to reject the purchase, so bought the car anyway.

Yes, 303 and other such products made my scratches less conspicuous, but they didn't disappear. Hopefully you can just live with it after using one of those products... or it'd be an expensive fix. Having said that, if you're willing to replace it anyway, then I'd attempt the heat gun fix, since you have nothing to loose. Good luck.
