IS THE 2016 SLOWER?

Never thought I would ever hear someone say a 4 second car wasn't fast, that has to be from a perspective of a <18 year old.

Much less one that can be had a $30K...

"Fast" is subjective to the operator. 4+ second 0-60 is not fast to me anymore post my sub 3 second 0-60 car. 4 seconds would be amazingly fast to someone who was only used to 6-10 second 0-60 though. Same with 1/4. And in all seriousness, who cares. Get the car you enjoy the most. .5 seconds here, a second there, if you like the car, enjoy. Everyone gets so worked up over bench racing and #s now a days.

In the latest Road & Track the GT PP only managed 4.7 seconds 0-60... and 109 in the quarter mile, WTF?

Everything is slower in 2016 than in 2015. Its all part of the ever expanding universe. So a quarter mile gets a little longer every year. See the flat earth thread for related information.

Yes according to some map made in 1892 Mustangs will continue to get slower because they obey the laws of physics but decades of mullet contamination in the Camaro allows it to slip by, or maybe it's the extra lubrication from the half-empty beer cans in the trunk.

Theyre fast. Different drivers, different altitudes, different mileage on test cars, different temperature and humidity, different track/surface... so so many variables that can greatly affect magazine results.

But still.. just don't race a 1998-02 fbody with headers. Youll lose.
