I'm listening, machsmith. I'll get your feedback documented and sent up the chain; to do so, please send me a PM with your name and contact information.

Rachel
While you're at it Rachel, could you please also include in your email that base/tech owners are still waiting for the cooler kit to arrive.

Thanks in advance

Car just arrived at the dealer, unfortunately it came after hours so I have to wait until Monday. Also, GM and my sales rep left for trips this morning...just my luck.

I got to get in and look it over. It is filthy, so I can't comment on the stripes or paint, but it appears the only problem is the rear bumper panel gap/sag. Rachel is would you like my info as well?

My 17 rear is sagging significantly more then it was last week. I'll be taking mine in to the dealership Monday. Rachel, let me know if you need my info as well.

With lighter colors its a ton more noticable than the darks. Would be nice if there was a fix for this.

I was thumbing through the service manual online the other day (not really using my thumb except for the space bar) and tripped over the "Body and Frame Tolerances" pages. This is what it says for Rear fascia-to-body side.

Margin specification: 0.0 mm + 0.5 mm ± 0.0 mm
Flushness Specification: -0.75 mm ± 1.7 mm

Not sure what "0.0mm + 0.5mm" means as all the other specifications are in the form of the Flushness Specification above. Even so, all of our rear fascias are out of tolerance according to that so I'm fairly certain that makes it a warranty issue. The key measurement for this thread being the "Margin" spec. I've seen some sagging to as much as 5mm or more. I think the left side on mine is at least 3 or 4mm.

I'm sure one of the fart smellers on this site will tell us what that tolerance value means.

I'd venture a guess that nearly all of them made are out of the tolerance zone. 1.7 MM is around 1/16. Add the .75 mm and it comes to jarouns .095 wide. That means many times they leave the plant out of tolerance and then additionally the poorly engineered suports cannot hold and the bumper will sag to 3/16 to a 1/4"+ which is over 2x their tolerance.

As I mentioned, I think the Margin tolerance is what we're discussing here. For instance, take the hood-to-fender specifications...

Margin: 3.5 mm ± 1.7 mm
Fushness: ± 1.5 mm

I read that as the gap between the hood and fender is within tolerance if it's 1.8mm to 5.2mm. But the hood shouldn't sit above or below the fender by more than 1.5mm.

I could be wrong and I'm hoping someone in the know corrects me if I am.

I read the fascia-to-body side margin spec as "the fvckin' panels should be kissing each other" :)

Made a couple 3/16 shims and shoved them under the bumper/on top of the black supports. I realize that it's tabbed underneath but this somehow helps.
We'll see how it holds up.
In a couple years I'll probably need to pull off the bumper.
