I just installed oil pump gears on my gen 2 coyote and that involved pulling the timing chains I followed all the instructions to my best ability starting at 12o clock for the passenger side then 5 o clock for the driver side then a full rotation back go 5 then to 12 to reinstall the passenger side I went to start the car and it’s making a squeak noise from passenger side I’ll include the video I took the car runs fine and no codes saying anything about timing I only ran the car for 2-3 min in all to prevent potential damage all help is appreciated thank you

Does it get louder when you rev it? It doesn't sound like knock to me as it would be a lot louder.

It sure doesn’t sound like anything bad. Normal coyote noises to me.

That slight chirp Sounds like belts. spray some water in the belts , tensioner etc , that will help isolate where it is coming from and at least eliminate them from the equation.

I spoke to a ford tech he says maybe the timing chain is rubbing on the timing cover

Sorry but the ford tech is an idiot. It’s impossible for chains to rub on timming cover as they are on the inside the tensioners.

can you tell where the sound originates from ?? Is it up high or lower ?

what else did you replace ?? where chains and tensioners done ?

can you look into the oil cap and see if the top secondary tensioner is sitting correctly ?

This is my built , sleeved gen2 For reference

I honestly can’t tell if the sound is up or down it just sounds like it’s coming from the passenger side I did notice today when I was looking at it that I didn’t seat the back portion of the valve cover right so it’s leaking a good amount of oil from there idk if the leak of oil is causing something up high and in the front(lifters) to not get proper lubrication

No. Oil pressure doesn’t work like that.

The oil leaking from the valve cover is just residual oil that flows back to the sump.

Figured just thought I’d throw it in there….my assumption is I’m off by a tooth bc the car runs fine no codes or anything so I’m assuming the car isn’t catching the timing being off or I’m completely wrong and it has nothing to do with that

Sounds like a chirp of some sort to me. Not a knock. Reading that your passenger valve cover isn't seated correctly is a start. Fix that and see. Idk how "off" it is, but maybe it's crooked and that's causing something to rub (unlikely)? I doubt you are "off one tooth" since it runs fine and no codes, but regardless that wouldn't cause the chirping sound.
I would fix the valve cover and go from there.

Yea i plan on fixing the valve cover this Monday I just wanted to get as much input before I started since the valve cover needs to come off for the timing cover anyway…does valves hitting a piston make a chirp?

Sounds like a belt to me.
I did remove the harmonic balancer for the timing cover and I used a special tool to push it back on idk maybe that’s rubbing not sure tho

I do agree with @WItoTX that it sounds like a belt. Maybe it got some coolant on it or something
While the car was running I sprayed the belts with brake clean the sound stayed the same but ig it’s possible or maybe the belt is misaligned
