For about that kind of money, I'd get a second set of wheels for the track tires instead. Something I'd actually enjoy getting (hard) use out of.

And that is the beautiful thing, I would enjoy cooled Recaros on stock wheels/tires (PP2) if I was buying. I'm not out to shave every second on the track like some but I certainly can see the argument from both sides.

Show item? The only comparable car I've driven to the mustang that I'm ordering is the ZL1 which retains all of its daily life comforts and adds the additional items needed for the performance. The only argument about the pp1 is that it gets stomped by the equally equipped Camaro. Obviously I could strip everything out and add this or that to increase performance, but when a comparable car that performs the way it does, while retaining every feature it doesn't make sense to do all that work for a couple tenths of a difference
Leather heated and cooled seats are 100% a comfort and show item. They have nothing to do with performance. Aside from the weight gain, the leather does not keep you firmly in place as cloth does. As I have stated before in this thread, leather and racing don't generally go together.

Assuming the aero features are functional but it looks ridiculous.
Just for the sake of clarity, those photos are the ZL1 1LE, which takes the over-the-top ZL1 further over-the-top. Very VERY low volume. And I would agree with Fatguy that I wouldn’t daily drive that, for concern of something happening to my aero-bits.

A ZL1 is a bit more restrained and is fine as a DD. Compared to my car (SS Vert) the rear spoiler is a little bigger, but not nearly the size of the ZL1 1LE and the grill is a bit more involved, but no lower to the ground than mine. And it doesn’t have the canards / airfoils in front of the front tires.

Not sure how a car with nearly 200 more hp could be considered comparable.

i figured this would be brought up, yes power wise the zl1 is no comparison. What i was trying to say is that in the zl1, you have complete comfort with nothing given up all the while having one of the best performance cars money can get right now. With the performance, gm gave them the extra cooling for the trans, diff and engine. seats are leather and alcantara recaros that hold you in place well yet dont give up the cooling/heated feature.

Forget about the damned seats. Big pluses (ZL1 1LE) are like chassis performance coming from Canadian supplier Multimatic in the form of aluminum-bodied spool-valve dampers. I just had to add that... :first:

No it doesn't

Nothing wrong with wanting a cooled seat option for $1,595, and it doesn't make you a poser either.
You have that option in the mustang, it's called "standard seats"

No...we don't...it's not an option unless you want sofa seats.

We are talking Recaro's
That's the thing; Camaro's "Recaros" are sofa seats with a TINY bit extra bolstering. They're pointless

Roger that, I missed where the Camaro seats came up but seeing the pics below and they are awful.

These are real Recaro racing seats.

Those plush leather heated and cooled seats aren't racing seats. These are not much different than the standard mustang seats.

Very true. Aside from the heating and cooling thing, they are pretty cheap. Things sometimes look better on paper than they do in real life.

Right I get that, I know what a racing seat is and what you can get from the factory is not that due to airbags etc..

No one is arguing they are "race" seats just asking for a cooled option for the $1,595 you spend to remove that feature in the first place.

I'd rather that $1595 be applied to a more genuine recaro than a brand name slapped onto a factory seat, but that's just me
