launch control essentially holds a preset engine speed for you so you can focus more on your clutch technique rather than trying to modulate engine speed with the gas pedal.

Why LC is unavailable sometimes, I have no idea. Mine does the same, and its sort of annoying. Well, back when I used to try and use it anyway.. but I gave up on it.

Traction control reduces engine power to keep rear wheel speed from exceeding front wheel speed too greatly (not including differences from tire diameter of course).

What Im confused about is that the "LC" appears on the bottom of the screen between the gauges, and then when it says Launch control not available, then RPM appears and it still holds the rpm

I have shared that observation as well. Another reason I have let go of the factory LC. As intuitive as it was supposed to be, its really not very.

So did some research, Launch control is more than just holding the rpm,its sopost to let you have more wheel spin than traction control allows but it uses traction control for that,so when it says rpm on the bottom on the screen, its because the traction control is set off, and to activate lunch control, you need to have the clutch all the way to the floor, being completely stopped, and press the brake in hard and then its sopost to do its magic, but I believe it cuts off to much power and its not gona give you a better ET at the track, but would be interesting if somone find out, specially on street tires

Yeah. I feel the same way.. My best runs have been with all the nannies completely disabled and using my good old driver mod.. Thanks for solidifying my opinion!
What do you do to completely disable all the nannies?

Not sure why it seems to be popular to bash launch control? i tried it for the first time yesterday and it took off out of the hole nicely! It also would definitely be more consistent that I could ever be. lol. Of course you aren't going to run a hero run with it on, but as far as consistently nice launches everytime, I think it would work pretty well! Awesome that it stays engaged even after turning your car off too.

First time I went to drag strip ever was last Friday. I wish I tried it, I forgot all about it. Best I got was 13.55 and that was not trying to beat the tree... just went when I was ready. The wheel hop was a f'ing nightmare and, quite frankly, embarrassing. Not that, even without wheel hop, I'd be that fast - the driver skill isn't there. But it was fun!
