Ok I am coming back to that. I just found out that European Mustangs are NOT equipped with a MAF sensor but with a MAP one, just like the American ones. I went down to my garage and with the help of a good friend of mine in another country (he was guiding me through photos exchanged over Messenger) we confirmed that there is no MAF sensor to be found on our EU-spec cars. I also confirmed that with our Mustang guy here in Europe (thank you MustangMustHaves!)

It seems that there is a thread where someone falsely claimed that EU cars are MAF and everyone ever since (including myself) went with it. So it seems that we Europeans are also in the game for some wooshhhh wooshhhhh sound! :headbang:
I would still check on that a little further if I were you. To be more complete, my understanding is that the European EB uses both a MAF and a MAP. Each are used for different functions by the ECU but it's the MAF that's used for metering air for combustion. Of course that could be wrong, just repeating what I've heard.

What is the part number for the MAF sensor?

I couldn't find anywhere that the European EB uses a MAF alone or even combined with a MAP sensor. In fact, the information I found is that the European Mustangs have two MAP sensors (I cannot verify that but that's what I've been told). If there was a MAF sensor, it should be located on the air intake. The only thing I can find on the air intake is the IAT sensor.

The MAF is typically combined with the IAT. The functions are very similar. All the MAF is, is a thin little wire. So if there is a MAF, it's that part you were looking at that is the IAT sensor.

I compared the wires entering the IAT sensor on my car to the picture above.
Same 2 wires, same colors.
Can we probably assume that there is no separate sensor in there?

Yes, it wouldn't be 2 separate sensors.

They do indeed have (2) MAP sensors. One is located on the intake manifold (IM) and the other is located on the intercooler near the outlet. You'd have to remove the splash panel, but once you do, it's readily visible on the bottom driver's side.

Juben that's what Adam told me as well, that we have 2 MAP sensors, therefore we are MAP tuned. He has tuned my car, as well as a lot of other European Mustangs, so he should know. Having a MAP or a MAF influences the tuning strategy. There was a guy in the forums a while ago who falsely stated that EU spec cars are MAF and everyone just assumed that ever since.

By the way Juben do you have photos of these two MAP sensors so that I know what to look for? Thanks man.

I don't have any on my phone and the car is at the garage (about 20 minutes away) right now. However, I'll try to swing by in the morning and grab some or see what I can locate on Google.

Thanks Justin. This will help me verify 100% that my cars (and all EU cars) are MAP.

They Are Mak, I helped a friend install an inter-cooler in his car, the TIP sensor on the inter cooler was identical as was everything I had to remove (intake, hotside pipe, coldside pipe). While I didn't remove the intake, It also looked identical to mine. There is no MAF sensor on European EBMs period.

Great Glenn, thanks for your input. That helps a lot. This means that European Mustangs can Vent to Atmosphere (VTA) without the ECU thinking that the air released to the atmosphere is still in the intake system and therefore injecting fuel accordingly. This would lead to the engine running rich for a while.
