This issue is intermittent, happens every couple of months. I push the clutch in to start the car and lights start flashing including the push to start button. When this happens I have to turn on accessory mode then push the clutch in and press the start button. After this happens I lose track apps and also tire pressures reset.

How old is your battery? When the batteries get weak, these cars do all sorts of funky things with the electronics. Does it happen after several short trips, where the battery may not get charged up enough?

That may be the issue. The battery is 5 years old now, so I will check that out. Honestly haven't noticed if this issue happens after short trips because of how random it is.

Aside from the battery, also check the following:

The clutch pedal (or brake pedal) “bumpers” if missing or have become deteriorated, will also cause multiple operational issues. The threads for that topic is here:

The other item associated with starting issues would be the starter is on its way out. There’s several threads on here with similar issues and it ended up being the starter.

I would start with least expensive diagnosis and fix first, then work your way from there.

Does the car have any stored codes?
