Interesting issue with front windows

Long story short I put a new LF window motor in my vert for various issues. Picked one up from my local ford, ordered it BY VIN. New one works fantastic, no more issues. This is where it gets odd. When I open the top, it doesn't auto down. RF still does so I know I'm getting global windows signal. HOWEVER I now have auto up with my LF window which I read on this site when i bought the car that convertible don't have this feature despite having the clicks on the switch for auto up. My thought is, did ford supercede the convertible part number to a coupe number? Coupe wouldnt need to see global windows signal from convertible top module. Unfortunately I don't have the box to check the number and not feeling like taking the door back apart. Old one had no ford numbers on it. Sticker tag was faded

Did you disconnect battery for install? Always disconnect battery when unplugging anything per Ford. Try disconnect battery now for few min see if works.

I did and I tried it again after and no dice

Get LF motor from same year convertible at recyclers check against one Ford sold you, return one you bought from Ford.

Honestly I kinda like the idea of having auto up. I can simply auto down the glass when I'm holding the top open button. I wouldnt be against replacing the other having both do the same. Im just not sure if it's an error on ford or just that all new motors are the same now coupe and vert. Just curious if anyone has replaced one recently.

Auto up and down when pressing top button would be perfect for me since I have Windows up 90% of time.

My ‘18 drops all four windows when I press the top down button. I would have thought that this is the case for all S550s. Maybe there is a requirement to program after replacing the motor?

Would it be forscan readable?

Mine did drop all 4. It now only drops the 3 original motors. I've checked with forscan but there's no basic functions in convertible top like BMS reset for when you replace a battery. It may require coding like f150s do to get global windows to activate. I'm not as good at that part of forscan

I would disconnect the motor, disconnect the battery, reconnect the motor and then battery on the hope it might work. Other wise seems like a dealer service trip though personally I'd get a motor from same year very at the recyclers first and return the new one stating it's defective.

My 20 401A has auto up for the front windows. I hit the auto up click in the front switches then immediately start holding up the rear window switches. All 4 windows end up reaching the top around the same time.

Sorry i can't help with the auto down function. Maybe there's a sensor or extra wire that wasn't connected?
