Can't tell from the pic, but is that even wired in and to where?

I did something like that with 2 magnets that I stuck on the dash and then put on a tablet. It held in place very nicely, but it just looked out of place.

Base bezels are around $75 from an auto recyler, not cheap, but not so expensive that you couldn't play around with modifying one to support a standard DIN or even double din chasis that these new Kenwood units or the Alpine Halos use.

I thought about buying an extra one and dissecting it to see what can be retained and what could be cut out to try something like this with the goal of keeping the lower half more or less intact. Short term I decided to go in another direction with an iPad just to see how that works but I can see coming back to this idea. Would be nice to see more of what modifications they made.

Maybe a 5 Star video is coming soon?

It‘s the new Kenwood 10 inch floating screen radio. Integration is done with the Maestro RR and the Maestro MFT1 kit for sure.

I agree, I am curious how secure the MFT1 & radio is with the factory bezel, I'm on the fence on the screen size, its almost to much even though I am a fan of the 10.1 Excelon.

I would like to see a side by side with a 9" Alpine, the Mustang just doesn't have the real estate the trucks and SUVs have in this area...

The MFT1 secures the radio really well. The brackets are made of steel and you use the original brackets which are then screwed to the MFT1 brackets.
So no problem here.
Only problem with full length radios i see and experienced myself is, that you have almost no space left behind the radio. I put a DDX 9705s into my Mustang with the MFT1 kit and damn that was a tight fight to keep the RCAs connected behind the radio. Had to bend them by 90° directly behind the plug which cannot be good for the cables in the long run.
I would always recommend a short chassis radio in the Mustang with the MFT1 kit to be honest.

You can get 90 degree RCA cables:) They definitely help in tight spaces.
