Wow, stock manifold seems to be the real deal here unless you have to rev it all the way up to 8000 rpm. The low end torque is the key here, but for a road coarse and staying at high rpms, i can definitely see the advantage of the gt350 and cobra jef manifold. This kinda questions why FRPP power pack 3 includes the gt350 intake manifold, even though it sacrifices a lot of power and torque down low. I wish the package was a cam package with the stock intake manifold now after seeing the results.
On a gen 2 coyote the GT350 doesn't lose much at all down low. I've seen S-550s gain almost 4 tenths and almost 4mph going from a stock manifold to a GT350. That's bigger gains than even a tune alone will provide.

I've owned serveral new 5.0's and have always avoided the manifold mod. It seems to me that all the power is in the last few hundred RPM which most of us will not feel or use.

I though the article tests were done on the gen 2 ( 2015- 2017) coyote's. What also can help is the gearing i think, with the gt350 or cobra manifold and 3.73 or 4.10 gears, you can be golden.

It was an F150 motor with bottom end work. Not sure what was done to the heads besides cams.

Stock heads which are the same between the Mustang and the F150. The factory cams are different, however they went with Comp cams so that is of course irrelevant.

Nope gen 1 5.0 from an F-150. It had comp cams and gen 1 heads.

Two forum members cars both basically identical mods ( 1 7/8" long tubes, full bolt ons) and Lund E-85 tunes. CJ manifold with the mono blade vs GT350 manifold with stock throttle body. Pretty much dead even except up top where apparently the CJ car had a couple degrees of knock retard but I've seen a few CJ dynos that they fall off above 7100-7200 or so so I dunno. Red line is GT350 manifold and green line is CJ manifold.

Why would these guys run 1 7/8 headers without force induction?
From what I have read, you get better gains running 1 3/4 with NA.

Since the Coyote first launched nearly everyone runs 1 7/8ths headers. What comparisons that have been done(thanks Beefcake) show little to no difference between them. Better to just get the bigger pipes and be done with it.
