Fronting is different. Fronting is main driver as "big mander" but big mander never drives it. Only me, making it a front to drop insurance by having me drive it more.
They'll never know but if they did you're screwed.
Also means I won't get ncd or main driver discount when insuring in the future.

Unfortunately Insurance is a game, and being an ex professional world of warcraft player I should enjoy games... not this one [emoji23] .

Thats my question, they'll never know? as you point out, the downside is you will not build up your NCD.

The day you screwed up was only the 5th time you drove it.....

Lol it could be... however, I'd rather not get in that spat. I need the mustang on my insurance record and I need it to stay clean

Also at my age I really need the ncd. Having only 1-2 years at the moment.

You would hope that getting a year or 2 no claims on your mustang the wrap may look more favourable cost wise?

just can't see ÂŁ5k justification from the insurers?

Fk knows. To be honest I use that as the "big hitter" I shopped around cheapest wrap increase was 500 with a black box. Without was 1000. Hadn't even told them the colour just that it was a full wrap.

I'm going to be wrapping certain parts (roof wing mirrors and splitter skirts and vallance) and I've disclosed this to the future insurance company who've said as it's not a full wrap I'm fine but if my car crashes or is stolen they won't cover the cost of them parts. Fine by me. However the full wrap they believe makes it more prone to robbery and therefore they wouldn't cover....

They honestly come up with some right shite.

I'd love to meet the under writers and slap them silly because some of the theories and hypothesis they come out with are absurd, based on zero facts and hold no weight in an argument it's just impossible to argue against because they hold the power.

Pose the argument....

I'm wrapping it in the same colour....just to protect the paint..there will be no visual enhancement.

But I'm not. When they check the DVLA form and it says a diff colour to red they'll screw me.

Wonder if anyone disclosed paint protection film as a mod? It's a clear wrap afterall...

Regarding "fronting" and how would they know??

In the event of a big claim, they have investigators, and these investigators aren't stupid.

They will almost certainly establish whom the main driver is.....

You can cross reference drivers too. Assuming my usual day route traffic cams will run my reg and get a decent idea of where I am going. As for my dad his car will have the same. A quick check between us both will show both cars moving at the same time however I am not insured in his car. Nor does he live with me... bit harder!(same goes for mum and brothers)

Not to mention the huge forum trail you've left discussing it. Trust me - they DO look at these things!

I'm aware haha [emoji23] . I'm not fronting it's no worries both parents will be insured as additional drivers should they ever need to drive the car. Just discussing the possibilities with everyone, never would have fronted either.

Just to add.....there is absolutely nothing wrong with adding a driver to reduce your premium....as long as you're honest about the main driver.

My sister lives alone, and has a new MX5, she put me on as a named driver, and it reduced her premium by around ÂŁ50...

I rarely drive her car, but it's nice to know that if I do, I'm fully comp on it:thumbsup:

Indeed. I'm aware of this too :). Parents are fully comp for the 5 times a year they'll ever drive the car. I'm main driver end of story and discussion about fronting etc.

Fronting is not worth it.
How do they know? Easy

Manders is driving his car causes a big accident. He was on his way to work and someone says to the police "He drives along here every day, he is so used to this road being slippery when wet"

That goes on police report. Insurance company disown the claim and when Manders comes out of hospital he gets board and lodging courtesy of her majesty.

I was not suggesting fronting!

Chances of getting caught, fairly slim
Consequences if caught, dire!

I'm re-visiting this thread.

Have any owners fitted after market exhausts and not bothered to notify their insurers?
