Steve,

Im looking at similar mods - exhaust, springs, tints, spacers...

Out of interest who are you using? i guess a few words on the phone should secure a good enough deal, I'm with you, i don't expect with mods to top the £500 mark...

Ryan
Directline are the cheapest stock but you need to call them to add mods. Privilege were nearly as cheap stock and would let me add mods online which took it up to around £500.

It seems the first major mod adds the most then its relatively small increments, or at least that was my experience.

Well, I gotta say if I was an insurance company at a 21 year old ripped fitness instructor with a love of knives and previous experience being a VX Corsa (Limited edition) rang me wanting insuring I would say "No way son" let alone insure a warp and other mods

Stuart,

Cheers for the Aviva heads up....

I've just completed an internet quote with 2 mods, tinted windows and exhaust (the other 2 mods i want are not listed)

£388 - actually quite happy with that to be fair....just the springs and spacers in a friendly phone call!

Ryan
That's fairly decent I would have said. Encouraging even

You nob. I'm not a fitness instructor.

The previous experience really screws me with specialist insurers.

Without mods declared on a Manual GT I was quoted around £435.

I added a cat-back exhaust and it went up to £524.87
Aftermarket wheels and it... stayed at £524.87 (yeah, I have no idea on that one)
"Sports Steering Wheel" (GT350 wheel is in the pipeline) and it... stayed at £524.87... again...

So from that we can gather that a catback that a theif can't see = MORE MONEY!
Wheels that probably cost more than said theif's car multiplied by two = "nah, you're good mate."

Knew you Bastards would lynch me for that. Lol!

Wish I just had your ages as a number, and a number alone ;). Especially for things like this!

I was just referring that I was an old bugger. All these silly cars over the years and now seem to get reasonable quotes.

Lol,
I actually know how you feel. I remember trying to insure my Cortina 2.0 ghia at your age! Apart from a set of weller wheels it was standard.

Insurance companies are evil. Age is but a number for the most part. Can understand the experience side but just because I'm young doesn't mean I'm a prat haha.
