Cuts down trees, skips and jumps.....

F*** it. Same goes for corner markers at the back, brake light etc. Assuming they need to know this stuff.Anybody told their insurance company they have wrapped their rear lights? I can see that sending them into a flat spin.
Rear lights are a bit different. Someone rear ends you; "I couldn't see his brake lights". Creek, no paddle.F*** it. Same goes for corner markers at the back, brake light etc. Assuming they need to know this stuff.
Insurance companies theoretically should just Insure the car and leave mods to be covered by the driver. Seems a little more fair...

As I've been told by everyone. Anything not stock is a mod and needs to be declared ;).Rear lights are a bit different. Someone rear ends you; "I couldn't see his brake lights". Creek, no paddle.
Sequential indicators too, as much as I would love to have them, imagine somebody telling Plod the lights on my car confused / distracted them causing the crash into the back of the car.Rear lights are a bit different. Someone rear ends you; "I couldn't see his brake lights". Creek, no paddle.
Only desirable to the non smoking thieves! Insurance can blow me. Sick of talking to them feeling like I've spent the last two weeks with them for both my corsa to insure for a few days (yet have to pay for a month...) along with sorting the mustang stuff out.I am a bit worried. I have removed the ashtray. I think I will email the insurance company now as I think it shows thieves that I am a non smoker and hence, makes the car more desirable!
OK what's wrong with 55+ and the next insurance story -Old is 55+ish ... whistles and twiddles his keys as he walks away..
Haha nothing is wrong with 55+!OK what's wrong with 55+ and the next insurance story -
Ring to tell insurance company I'm retired and they want more money why "you have more time to drive the car so your mileage will increase". But I'm on a limited mileage policy.
So heads they win and tails you lose.
Replied on the other thread. Feel free to carry it on here. Colour change wrap needs to be disclosed. If I wrapped my car satin red I maybe able to get away with it being race red. But mainly, it'll screw me, not worth losing 30k over.Just been doing a fair bit of research and a few things came up that interested me.
Firstly, advice on confused.com website is that you must inform your insurer about mods but then goes on to say the following
Your insurer doesn’t need to know about every little change you make. If you have a new paint job, for example, that’s probably not going to affect your car’s performance or value greatly, so there’s no reason to tell your provider.
Well surely thats like a wrap!
Another thing, Manders, you may have considered this. It suggests adding and older named driver to your poilcy and this could see the premium fall. This is not fronting as you are naming them as an additional driver. May be worth a try if you haven't already.
Obviously it wont work if you try to add your older brother who had 10 point on his licence and has been banned twice!...........not that I am saying that is the case, just an example of what not to do!
Fronting is different. Fronting is main driver as "big mander" but big mander never drives it. Only me, making it a front to drop insurance by having me drive it more.A couple of posts I've seen regarding fronting on the insurance, whilst this IS fraud, i would like to know how does this fraud get found out so to speak?
Do you get found out with a claim i.e.: little Manders pops his wrap and big Manders puts the claim through? surely if you are named on the insurance you are entitled to drive it and make a dent in it also..?
or, do the Police find you out - which i personally know is not going to happen.....
btw...im not advocating for anyone to break the law, i just find that this an insurance loop hole that insurance companies find tough to plug.
Cheers for the interesting responses
