Bought the stripe kit from bigworm of course. They've been sitting in my house for about a week now.

I'm desperate to put these on but vancouver, bc has about 2 weeks of rain non stop as it's forecast. we're in day 4 so far. There might be a couple hours of sunshine where the installer can take me in.

Questions..

1) i was told to wash it beforehand and dry. i assume for it to be as clean as possible, washing it the day of the stripe install would be ideal? will it be dry enough by the time it gets to the shop though?

2) is winter a bad time for stripe install? probably going to be around 10 degrees celcius here if the sun's out. and an indoor install i think..

3) should i unroll the stripes? or can i leave them in the box until they're ready.

4) i want to put bumper plugs on, but they haven't arrived yet. can i just keep the plate there and then when the plugs arrive, just stick em in? i guess i'll have to make holes in the stripes?

It's always good to wash it first. Maybe the night before. They will clean the area they will be working on but it's always nice not having to work on a dirty car. Especially when doing vinyl you want as little dirt as possible present.

I assume that you have the factory plate bracket on now? From what I can gather, the rivets holding the plate bracket on have to be drilled out to remove the bracket.

I didn't install the stripes on the front bumper because I'm debating whether to remove the bracket and replace with either plugs/after-market plate holder or factory plate holder or just trying to install the stripes around the holder.

If it's an indoor install, the shop is probably heated or I don't think they would do your install. It doesn't matter if the car has a little water on it where the stripes are going because they will most likely spray the area with water/dish soap combo (installation fluid) anyway. Don't know if the graphics from Big Worm can be dry installed or not. If it's a dry install, then washing the night before is a good idea.

Oh didn't know there was a wet spray style. He told me to wash it beforehand. Does anyone know if bigworm is wet or dry install?

From installation videos online, a wet process is used.

Wet is easier to do because it allows you to positioning before drying.

Damnit. I missed my timeslot because he said since it's raining out, should come by when it's dry. I think he thought it's a dry install.

Does anyone know if the bigwormgraphix pinstripe is installed separately? or it's all one piece.

Did you open your box yet? I believe they give you full instructions in the box. And you'll be able to tell if pinstripe is separate. Let me know!

Will that increase installation time by quite a bit?

For a noob DIYer like me, quite a bit longer. For a pro, I imagine it wouldn't take too long. Once the main stripes are on, they just have to run the pinstripes along side them.

I always use an application solution even on dry vinyl because it prevents bubbles. Even bubble free vinyl you can get them in.

Bah, install not til the 18th and car is filthy. Can I clean it now? Or would I still have to clean it again the day before.
