Installing Kooks Long Tubes.Can I reuse factory studs?

Will be installing my Kooks Long Tubes,Catted next weekend.

Kooks came with bolts,that means I will have to remove the Stock Studs from the Engine Block,and use supplied bolts instead.Why???Same diameter.:frusty:
Bolts have a tendency to fall out.
Can I reuse OEM Studs and nuts with Kooks Headers??!

I reuse some when I installed my ARH headers. To be honest I would use the bolts as the studs made it difficult to get the headers on. this was not the case for all of the Stud locations but I cannot work all which ones were the troubles. you can search by my name and I wrote something on my install that does have some detail

on the kooks and sw you should be able to reuse all the studs, and this is always the route we choose.

arh you can reuse most, but not all.

reuse as much of the oem hardware as you can

I am going to guess that you could reuse the stock studs on the top rows if you wanted, but the bottoms might not allow you to get them in. But I also didnt try, I just pulled the studs and went to the bolts.

These cylinder heads use a slightly undersized tap to create a very snug thread. When turning the stock studs out, or threading the ARP bolts in, you have to use a wrench the entire time as they require quite a bit of torque to turn.

So its not the normal thread the bolts in with your fingers until they touch down and then torque... you have to crank'em the entire way home. Those suckers arent coming loose (crossing fingers).

Driver side top bolt closest to the firewall was a pain, I would use the bolt. Bottom passenger closest to the firewall also has the primary in the way. This was on our Boss and a few other cars.
