A car will probably gain more from headers and tune, than cai and tune.

Horsepower gain vs cost, catted LT's def not worth it. Then some will say go catless. Still not worth it. Do the same with factory headers. Never seen more then a 8-10hp gain vs $1000+ for LT's + install.
My shop is full of stangs with big gains with LT's, catted or not. The best part of the LT gain is the average gain across the rpm range, which may very well only be an average of 8-10 rwhp/tq to 6k rpm, but at 7000 rpm for example, I had 25rwhp and 20rwtq gains. From 6k to 7k, it just widened the gap from that average of 10/8 to 25/20. Regardless, I want to see average gains, not necessarily peak gains.

Granted, we don't live in those high rpm's but if you run it, there is a difference that can be felt. My 2012 GT had even better gains with LT's but it was a manual vs my auto. With my GT350 intake/E85, gains at 7000rpm were 50rwhp/25rwtq and gaining. Point is, the combo works even better when you build on the LT's.

I haven't tracked my Mustangs but on a different car, motor, my old 2005 C6, the gains were similar (had performance cats) but with a consistent .25-.30 and 3 mph at the track, same 60-ft, same weather, same track. IMO, all about the combo so I think LT's are definitely worth it, even if just tune and LT's. Do it with confidence, won't regret it.
