What is certain is that it is warm in the summer.

I am not aware of any oil pressure problems with the Coyote 3.
If the engine dies below the magic 10,000 mls, you usually still have warranty.
For everything else, you have the low oil pressure light that comes on before you happen to see it on the gauge. They are just too far out of the field of vision.

At least for me, it's more the head and diff temperature that's the subject when I'm pushing the pony down the Autobahn.

There is a thermostat to avoid that the transmission will work under 96°C. On some 10R80 applications (F-150) there is also a transmission warmer to help with warm-up.
But I guess you know better, right?
Well, i know for sure that the company i sent the oil samples to told me that my transmission oil was done after only 45.000 miles (change was done after ~70.000km) and they recommended me a change interval of only 30.000 miles (or ~50.000km). Main reason the oil was in such a bad condition after that relatively short amount of mileage was heat degradation according to their analysis. The oil was dark brown with the 45.000 miles change intervall and had a burned smell to it.
Maybe this is one of the reasons why at least in the German forums quite a few people complain about premature failure of their 10R80 transmissions in the Mustang?

So either you really shorten your change intervalls of the transmission oil or you add a cooler to keep it below 90°C and lengthen it's lifetime by keeping it below 90°C.

I agree with the shortening the maintenance interval. I've never been a fan of the "sealed for life" idea.
My personal maintenance plan for the transmission is 3 years / 50.000 Km.

I don't like the idea of tampering with the thermostat because that way it will run outside of it's intended parameters.

You don't have to change the thermostat, you just install a bigger cooler.
It's a known problem even in this very forum that the transmission tends to overheat if you drive a bit more spirited than the average retired driver who bought the car just for shits and giggles.
