I need a bit of help on a few different things.

First. In an ideal world i would like to have the OEM screen act as a gauge display. Does anyone know of any systems that interface the OBD information with OEM screens so that you can display your OBD data on screen? Similar to the HKS CAMP 2 system.

Second. Failing that, does anyone know of an all-in-one LCD gauge that plugs in to the OBD port that fits our vent housing?

And last, failing all that. Does anyone know what the size of the performance pack gauges are? I would like to buy the panel and fit my own gauges in it.

Thanks in advance!

For me, this road led me to building a AutosportLabs Racecapture Pro CAN setup. In theory, with a bit of work, you can do everything you describe and much more. I plan on documenting the whole thing and sharing it on this forum.

Its a shame the HKS CAMP 2 unit was discontinued or that they don't have a replacement. I liked the fact that you could have all your OBD2 readouts but you could also add your own sensor inputs to it too.

I want to add trans and diff temperature sensors but at the moment it doesn't really seem like there is much out there!

I just realised this is Android only. Dissapointed!

There are other options but they are FAR more expensive (MoTeC, AiM, etc.).

If my memory serves me right, there are other options that, for example, simply convert an OBD-II CAN signal to one that can be used by standard "analog" gauges. But you'll be limited to the (very small) subset of OBD-II standard signals.

The Racecapture Pro is built sturdy (commercial grade electronics, etc.). It's pretty flexible if you don't mind learning how to script in Lua. It's not car specific so you can use it on other cars.

I'm not really interested in the Android dash except maybe for lap times. I hope to make a MoTeC SLM work on the second CAN bus (the first one used for OBD-II) and use the LEDs as I see fit (warnings, shift light, etc.).

Also it "works" with AiM products so I think you could plug it into the relatively cheap AiM G-DASH.

Yeah, i'm not bothered about the Android or Apple thing either. I would rather it just had an AV output that went directly in to a monitor. It only if it needed and interface to bring it up on the screen then it would need to be Apple/iOS.

I just can understand how this day in age nobody has a simple device that converts OBD2 straight to A/V, with the option to add external sensors if you wish.

The Recapture Pro is pretty much there, but they just need to add a simple A/V output!

I have been running a Linear Logic ScanGauge II since 2009. From 2010-2012 I had an Aeroforce Interceptor Scan Gauge...both have their advantages / disadvantages...I have purchased three ScanGauge units, two of which I gave away with the cars they were installed in upon sale of said car. They both plug into the OBDII port, Aeroforce can accept outside input from sensors, and is a regular round gauge...Scangauge is rectangular, and you will need to be creative with your mount. Scangauge displays more info at once, Aeroforce can cycle information....both are daisy-chain capable.

Old multi gauge is another option that had upgradeable sensor adapters
