I currently own this part and haven’t did my tune yet. Which will be done by a local person.

I will be using this as my daily driver and after a lot of research I see a lot of people saying a flex fuel tune will not work and I’ve seen people who said they have no issues with running a flex tune.

So my question is for people who have success running a flex tune. What did you do.

People who daily drive with this setup. How is it and what tune are you using.

I’ve already reached out to Steeda and waiting on a reply from them to confirm some stuff they have experienced. TJ has put me in contact with someone just waiting. So thanks TJ

I'm not going to lie, I have no direct experience with this intake, but I do have experience with the OEM flex fuel logic and the Whipple MAF housing, which is enormous.

The OEM flex logic can be made to work with a huge MAF housing, but it can be tedious and I can see why some tuners might not want to mess with it. Huge MAF housings can be a bear to get perfect so the flex logic will work correctly and accurately. If the MAF isn't absolutely perfect in lower air mass regions then the inferred ethanol content can be wildly wrong.

These large MAF tubes need an air straighter. You can buy a honeycomb type or DIY with window screen. Google will help you decide.

These reduce or eliminate turbulence at low air flow rates causing the MAF signal to be consistent.

I truly am surprised Steeda doesn't include one or make it an option.

Funny enough I randomly found what you were talking about yesterday and was wondering if this could be the fix to do it.

Flex fuel using the stock ford logic can work excellent, with a few caveats.

- As mentioned, the maf cal and injector data has to be really good. Flex learning depends on the fueling being accurate so the trims have to be close to zero on gasoline.
- As of now, you have to use either pcmtec or hpt with user defined parameters to prevent inaccurate learning. The mustang fuel system volumes are zerod out from the factory and these MUST be populated in order for it to work right. Hpt does not currently have these parameters defined so most tuners can’t properly do it unless they are hex code whizzes.
- Cold start can be tricky and some of the biggest tuners have basically given up on making it work. It can be fixed properly using pcmtec or bandaided in hptuners.
