Hello All:

Steeda is happy to announce our latest offering - the Steeda Mustang GT ProFlow Open Cold Air Intake (2015-2020)!

https://www.steeda.com/steeda-555-3228-s550-open-cold-air-intake

The Steeda ProFlow Open Cold Air Intake maximizes the potential of your induction system. Designed by Steeda engineers and put to the test with real track time, this intake will give your S550 an edge. The vehicle-specific design makes use of the factory air duct and draws in fresh and dense air. A roto-molded airbox assembly shields the intake from the hot air of the engine bay and makes sure your 5.0L engine is making peak power. Engineered using CFD (computational fluid dynamics) the intake has been optimized for airflow. Smooth bends and curves in the intake, combined with a high-flow nanofiber mesh air filter, ensure unrestricted airflow. The filter attaches to a specially designed velocity stack that helps to draw in a larger volume of air and increase the speed of air getting pulled into your engine. Steeda's 114mm mass airflow housing is built into the intake tube and generates a clean signal for smooth throttle response and outstanding drivability.

The attention to detail that was put into designing this kit is unlike that of any other brand. Steeda went the extra mile to design the kit to work with the Gen 3 Coyote engine covers so that there is no need to modify or cut the cover. This allows you to maintain that clean look that the stock engine bay has. You have the option to delete the sound tube that sends intake noise into the cabin or delete the sound tube for a quieter cabin.

If you are looking for an intake system that is designed for your S550 by real racers, enthusiasts, and owners of Mustangs, this is the kit for you. Designed, engineered, and manufactured in-house, right here in the USA. With over 30 years of experience racing and building performance parts for Mustangs, you can be sure that Steeda is the name you can trust.

@tj@steeda is the MAF curve available for those who purchase the intake? This information is important to provide the tuner of our vehicles. Or does Lund already have this?

I actually just installed this on a 2020 car. It seals relly tight to the hood and connects to the factory snorkel. I live in South Carolina and it has been in the 90s the last few days. The maf signal is not the cleanest though. I am not sure if the tuner I use had any data on it yet.

How are the IAT’s compared to stock? And noticeable difference in power?

Iats on an open element intake will always be higher than closed stock box, no matter the brand.

Iats are better then any of the other open box intake brands I have owned. They creep up about 14 degrees over ambient when sitting in traffic but fall quickly. If it is just a short light they really dont rise at all. Power is hard to measure. Most of it comes from the tuning. I only went with an aftermarket intake on my car because I have a ported manifold.

That’s not bad then! Looks like steeda’s advertising is true. Maybe this piece with a velossa tech or grille opening would be a good combo.

How’s drivability and fuel trims? Is this flex fuel compatible?

One of his observations was maf signal was erratic which would lend itself to not being conducive with a flex tune. But nothing to my knowledge that is definitive like there was the closed lid design. Maybe maf was moved further down stream to assist.

True, I wish more tuners and owners would get their hands on this thing so we can see

Steeda offers e85 tunes with their closed box intake, why doesn’t anyone just use them considering they made it and make it work on their car?

I have been told it tunes better then the closed box. It just took a minute to get dialed in. It drives fine and learns on flex tune and dedicated e85 file. I actually may be selling it shortly if my turbo kit gets here when promised.

Oh that’s awesome then. I’d be really curious to know more as it seems ur kind of the first I’ve heard to run it. How close to stock IAT’s does it get? Also how much power did u make with it? Thanks

I'd be interested in 60-130 testing on a Lund/PBD/AED tuned car with stock CAI and this back to back. I'd do it if I had one to do it with. I run a flex tune every day, and am not too worried about IATs as must of my "full throttle driving" is from a roll. Like other said though, the ~30 hp gains are not new, so I'm wondering how much of it is just the tune.

Here is the latest video - For the 18+ cars we offer premium fuel (91-93oct) and e85 tunes. No flex fuel tune at this time.
Not sure if due to design or not but does not appear Steeda offers a flex tune for this one just fyi. Doesn't mean the other guys won't necessarily.
